    I broke my new truck

I've never had much luck with access to bulbs from behind. I usually just pull the bezel and lens, leaving the cluster in place, then use a piece of fuel or vacuum line to latch onto bulbs.

    Unbelievable Turn Signal Issues

Yes. -Separate the light blue wire from the brown wire on the left side. -Separate the dark blue wire from the brown wire on the right. -The brown is for the parking lights, and blues are for turn signals. Doing this will at stop all of the dash and tail lights from flashing with the turn...

    Unbelievable Turn Signal Issues

Okay. First thing is to bin those little amber lights and replace them with something proper. It appears that they shorted the turn and parking light wires together since those lights only have two wires... so that will cause all of the tail lights and dash lights to flash with any of the turn...

    Unbelievable Turn Signal Issues

10/10 for your deductive reasoning! Edit: Hey! This thing ate my emoji!!

    I broke my new truck

That's usually a sign of a bad ground or burned out filament on the front signal with incandescent bulbs; w/LED, I donno. Try removing your right front park/turn bulb, and the green indicator should go out. If you haven't installed an incandescent bulb in the RF park light, give that a try, at...

    Unbelievable Turn Signal Issues

-Picking these things apart a bit at a time can be helpful. Like SirRobyn0 said, get all of the LED lights out of the circuit first. Does the right turn signal activate the right fuel pump if the flasher is removed? It probably won't. Does hazard flasher work, or turn on fuel pump? Does fuel...

Catalytic converters: does your square have them?

I'll admit that I get frustrated with emissions controls at times, but taking a look at pictures of the thick smog blanketing heavy industrial areas in places like China and India, then comparing that with ours... sorta reminds you that there is a valid reason for these devices. China and India...

Catalytic converters: does your square have them?

Yes. After the screen in my original catcon rotted out and let the beads go flying, then an unfortunate backfire blew the muffler wide open, I installed dual exhausts with dual converters. I'm not an enviro-Nazi, but catalysts have proven themselves in improving air quality, and I think it's a...

    TBI Off Idle Transition Problem

A number of the early TBI vehicles I've driven have a fairly aggressive throttle tip-in. Sometimes, if you can modulate the throttle with a velvet slipper, you can actually get the engine to stumble a little between on and off idle instead of lurch. But it's never a particularly smooth...

Did ALL 1977's get yellow painted side trim?

I'm looking at pictures of a yellow and cream colored 1977 GMC Sierra Grande, and the side trim inserts are painted the usual black instead of the honey mustard yellow unique to 1977. Queshun is: Did all 1977's start life with the yellow/gold trim? If not, what made the difference... body color...

    I broke my new truck

I'll second this. Plus, you are assured of them being 100% compatible with the optics of whatever lamp you install them in. For example, I can see the front and rear turn signals on my truck reflecting off of signs FAR away.

    Praise for the Delco 2700

^ It looks like you got the picture thing figgered out. @RaiderL, I'm not 100% sure, but I think "model 2700" encompassed a couple different forms of Delco radios made in Kokomo, Indiana (remember USA made electronics?). I've seen my AM/FM cassette stereo with analog tuning referred to as a...

'77 K10 Fuel Gauge Not Accurate

I'm not wanting to research or write a bunch if OP doesn't come back to read it, but there is a resistor on the back of the fuel gauge on many GM vehicles of this era that can cause erroneously low readings if it fails, and it's not particularly hard to replace.

Guess I'm still pretty new around here...

Passing lane on the freeway, to clear those oblivious dingleberries driving 25 under the speed limit out of the way, of course! I actually sold the plow truck back in Montana. It does snow real snow up on nearby Mount Lemmon, though, which reminds me a bit of home.

Guess I'm still pretty new around here...

Yep. I'm trying my best to keep it in decent shape, though it's getting a bit shabby here and there. I've rubbed the red color through to primer in some spots, seat fabric is worn, dash pad looks like hell. I finally put all of the center caps and beauty rings back on it, so it looks a bit nicer...

Guess I'm still pretty new around here...

Wish I coulda bought it new, but I was 6 years old at the time. I think I'm the second owner. This truck is the one and only vehicle I purchased from a dealer, and online. I was looking for an 81-87, and all of the potential victims where I lived in Kalispell, Montana were a bit on the rough...

Hey everyone , I'm new here and hope to be around a long while

Welcome aboard, even though I have no brain to pick! How did I get duped into welcoming someone from two years ago?? Must be some truth in that "no brain" statement, eh?

Guess I'm still pretty new around here...

Yep. Definitely glad I've still got the old girl. I paid $8970 with no sales tax (I lived in Montana then) for it in December, 2000. It had something like 51,000 miles on it then.

    I broke my new truck

You *may* be able to get by with just changing front side markers back to incan.

    I broke my new truck

Okay, I don't want to get to deep here, so will say that it will be easiest to just bin the LED's and go back to incandescent bulbs. Here's why: The front side markers are wired so that they ground through the front turn signal, so that they'll do double duty and flash with the turn signals...

    No turn signals?

You didn't clarify if your hazards work correctly? Verify that your reverse lights work (same circuit as turn signals), then swap your hazard flasher for the turn signal flasher... if no luck, switch 'em back. If it passes those tests, you've likely got a loose connection at one of the harmonica...

    No turn signals?

Do your brake lights work? Any action when you press the hazard switch? It's on a different circuit than the turn signals, and uses a different flasher.
