What new tools have you got lately?

Not brand new but last one I got was this power probe. Pretty freaking handy.

Lawn/ Garden tractors/ Riding Mowers, Cool Mods and tinkering

Bought it from an old man. The guy barely used it and then got so up there in age that he had to hire somebody to come do his lawn and they used all their own equipment. His ad was for $500 bucks and when I went to go get it he canceled at the last minute because something was wrong with it. He...

Lawn/ Garden tractors/ Riding Mowers, Cool Mods and tinkering

Here's mine. After building gokarts and such it takes every bit of my discipline to not modify this thing for the fun of it. I've done good so far just keeping it an appliance.

    Lower steering shaft

By lower shaft do you mean the part from firewall-ish area down to the steering box with a joint on both ends and a collapsible center? Or just the lower half of the collapsible section?

    Rocker question

Just cut out the bad and put in not as bad. No sweat. Mwahaha. Extra points for using the wrong model floor parts to patch it. It was worse on the passenger side because it sat for close to 15 years at an angle and all the water gathered there and leaked out.

1985 K5 blazer, do they have rocker boxes?

When I cut up and patched the floor on a 78 k5 it didn't have any. Hoping you can see that it's not there. Just the rocker and a backer piece

‘83 K5- seeking design and material ideas on bed side panels and compartments for storage

@CountKrunk Blazerbill asked about materials. And if storage was created. K5s and burbs are different in the back panel area. K5 shows the inside of the bedsides when you pull the side covers off, burb don't so there's no open space. @BlazerBill we took a plastic bed cover and cut it down to...

‘83 K5- seeking design and material ideas on bed side panels and compartments for storage

I used wood paneling in my burb. It was flexible but rigid enough. Didn't make any pockets or shelf though. Just covered it with padding and wrapped it in some apolstry fabric that was close.

    Show your daily driver

No regrets at all. I've loved this truck since before I knew anything about cars. I'm quite promiscuous about my 4x4s. Hard to not be when even my stupid Jeep is part AMC, Chrysler, XJ, Ford, Chevy and even Peugeot, or was. Took the french bicycle makers garbage out. @SirRobyn0 I'll gladly take...

    Show your daily driver

My daily for past 12ish years. My grand dads 76 F250. Eat your hearts out ford haters. Mild built FE with a grunt cam. It's loud & obnoxious, 8 mpg going downhill, and scares the hell out of new car drivers. My work van behind it is just an appliance or a toolbox on wheels.

    1977 K10 Frame with 86 Cab Help

I had to oval the holes in the 84 core support I put on a 78 frame. Depending on the year of the core support you may have to do the same. Everything else was same ish.

    For the Handicapped

I know that there is some powered steps that lower when you open the door and go back up when you close then. I don't know if they make them for a square but it might not be hard to make some work. There is a thread here that might help called 'amp power steps on a K5 solved' sorry I don't know...

Need quick reliable answer please- ‘83 K20 front axle question

Yes there's 8 lug 10 bolts. I have one in the front of my Suburban with 4.10 and 37-in tires.

    Old77's Jeep Thread

Sweet. I'll be watching. My trail toy is a YJ with lots of custom work. The one major piece of advice I would give you is to swap out all of the Torx head bolts for regular hex head bolts as you can. Can't tell you how many I've had to cut out.

Cab swap years and also cab removal.

I put a 84 dual headlight front clip on a 78 k5. So the opposite way you're going. As you mentioned the hood and mounting is different. The 80's cab will have a cowl piece with tall pedestals for the wipers. You won't need the cowl with the early hood and you'll have to change to the short...

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

The wife drove one like that of her moms. Can't remember the year but it was the twin turbo V6 one. She hated parking that thing.

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

Well I have to admit right now I'm only five pages in and there's some better stuff so maybe I was wrong. Love the mustang cracks. Of course I have to have one too dammit. I get around.

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

What the heck? So I find this 'fords suck' thread and I'm like sweet I'll check it out. I go back 3 pages and read to current and... mostly clucking about hood struts? Sheesh. I'm gonna go read from the beginning now in hope of some good trash talk. My 76 F250 in the driveway is laughing at...

Two for One trade to get the GMC my father bought new in 1972!

Wonderful story. Sounds familiar. You made the right call. I drive my grandfathers 76 F250 he bought new and have my old man's 62 PowerWagon coming up on the project list. I would have never forgiven myself if I would have let them go. Both trucks will be passed down to my kids, and they already...
