Im going to put them back in there correct location and see what the joint angle come out to. I can't imagine I need the case lowered. Its only 6" of lift.
From everything I've seen they're suppose to be located inside the frame with the crossmember against the frame. So frame sandwiched between crossmember. I understand a longer bolt has a higher clamping force. That seems to be normal.
Im used to transfer case lowering kits and what they're...
Thanks folks. The dodge and the highboy are heirlooms. I'm 3rd gen to drive the highboy and second on the dodge. And 3 kids fighting over all my junk. Lol
Not anymore no. Its still on my property though, aaaaand still in my name sooo.
2 years ago I took a 20 something kid under my wing at work. Showed him the finer points of life. He bought a 84 k20 and immediately wrecked it with bald tires. Washington roads. He said he had always wanted a k5...
Wifey's stang. Got a wrecked foxbody for a drivetrain. Been fixing rust. Yes, she is drilling holes for some spot welds while wearing sandals barefoot. That's my girl!
I know im way late to this conversation but I wanted to mention a company called speedway motors. They have lots of builder parts including steering shaft parts to make your own. On another vehicle my only option was flaming river or borgeson. Instead I ordered the shaft and 2 little u joints...
If this isn't the right place I'll go post it over in off-road area.
I have a 91 Suburban with a 6 inch lift kit already on it when I bought it. The transmission and transfer case were lowered. The little spacers were moved under the frame to lower the transmission crossmember down. I'm...
This isn't a bad option. 241's were behind some heavy-duty stuff too. You can swap out the 27 spine input for a 32 spine input from a later drivers side drop as well. Should be able to run a six gear planetary too I believe. Its still an aluminum case though. But its a bit quieter if that's...
I was going to point out what Dvdswan said. In my situation I would use the brakes to stop moving. Still holding the brakes, shift into reverse, start to back up and clunk. When I hit the brakes the nose dived which extended the rear drive line at the slip yoke and when I finally came to a...
I agree here. I did herculiner in another vehicle and can't for the life of me make it look clean again at all. I have to use a wet/dry vac and a plastic bristle brush with a hose to get it to look halfway decent. Its on the inside of my wheeler and the texture just fills up with mud and...
I saw there's a spot here for other rigs so I might as well throw myself to the wolves. Not sure how to post multiple pics yet so bear with me. 70 Jeepster, 89 Wrangler, 93 gmc, 63 power wagon, 76 highboy.
That's awesome! Mine was my dads too. He passed last year the day before fathers day. There was a guy who lived near us who had it parked at this house for years. My ol man would drive by looking at it longingly and at 10 or 11 years old I said to him, "why dont you ask him to buy it?" Dad said...
