    Tbi vs carb

Raider L This is my first time really building a rig with fuel injection that'll be taken out in the woods or mountains. All my other vehicles are carbureted for the exact reasons you mentioned. And I really haven't had any problems with them except for in my Jeep when I start flopping it sideways.

    Tbi vs carb

Totally understand you on that. Im a painter and my 'do the job' price is significantly cheaper than my 'fix the job' price. I'd rather not deal with someone else's attempt. Im asking for it too so dont be shy telling me how it is. First hand experience is always the best.

    Tbi vs carb

I appreciate the opinion. I was asking which way people go if they swap. Im happy with the way my rig is and never was considering selling it. And im a cheap sob. If I was to swap from tbi to carb getting a parts rig is after all the smartest route. I'll resell most of it and make it just about...

    Tbi vs carb

Thanks bextreme04 for your insight. I already own a running driving 454/5speed/4x4 with 160,xxx miles. Its the one in my post in 'other rigs'. I got it for the purpose of using the engine tranny in the future for my burb. And I was trying to make it a easy as I can on myself by getting a 454...

    Newbie seatbelt question

Ah so the fabric is done then? Yeah that changes things.

    Tbi vs carb

Im putting a little more info here to help. Im happy with my current setup and it works fine with tbi. I dont like computers in the boonies. so if it came with a carb I'd be fine with it and probably wouldn't change it. I'm just asking to kind of get the feeling of the crowd here. I do have a...

    Tbi vs carb

Thanks bextreme04. Im into wheeling and tipping my rig so there is a benefit sometimes to swap from a carb to tbi when power is about stock. But that is admittedly partial to off-road only. A street princess won't be the same.

    Newbie seatbelt question

Ive dyed fabric in the past, it might be an option for the cloth part of the belt?

I need gaskets and seal kit for A 10 spline SM465 NP 205

I'd figure you could order one in any parts store or your favorite online distributor. Fel pro at summit? Is there a specific reason, is it hard to find?

    Tbi vs carb

Ok thanks for the replies. I currently have tbi both on my 350, and the 454 I'll be swapping in later. Just looking for opinions. Ive seen a lot of people just toss the tbi in favor of building more power. Im about fixing it in the woods so I was a little iffy on running TBI at first but I...

    Tbi vs carb

Without starting a fuss, I know opinions vary. Is there I consensus here on this? Are more people swapping from tbi to carb or carb to tbi (or another form of injection)? Say on a basic stock engine with a 4 barrel already or stock tbi. Does this opinion differ between a big or small block...

    Wheel choices for 4x4

Easy tiger. Im a mud tire guy myself but I bought that blazer with those wheels and tires almost 18 years ago and they at least still hold air. Shrug

    Howdy all

Welcome! If it's been sitting at all just get the gas out of the tank and clean, even the lines. So many problems with old gas its hard to fix other issues till then. Pretty much chasing your tail.

    Wheel choices for 4x4

I second these rims. Old school look. I got mine in 17x9 flavor. Went with 17's for future tire options and possible brake upgrade in the 2nd pic. Or in the 1st pic you could look for those like someone else mentioned.

    Transmission lowering?

What's funny that's what i was going to say. Im new here and thought it may sound a bit smart ass. Im a little used to another 4x4 site that will eat you up.

    My other rigs

Moose that's cool as hell. Way more interesting to me than 'cookie cutter' rigs. Just about anybody can build something that's nothing but bolt on.

    Transmission lowering?

Bennyt I figured it came with a kit. I'm looking if anyone with a burb had to run them. To me its bonkers but you never know. I'm going to move em at some point for sure. Really I'm not worried about the front shafts angle. I think I might just hate the xfer case hanging down so much. As a...

    My other rigs

Raider L. The Jeepster is a 70. I painted a few rooms in a guys house for it about 15 years ago. Old guy. He had tons of documents for it including the original window sticker. He wasnt the first owner though. He had owned it since early 70's. It was funny when he called those tires 'big balloon...

Welcome! Amazing what a bath does. I'll be watching the advice given about the 454 cause I have one to swap into my burb.

    New 1986 C10 Silverado 305 (or maybe 350?)

Looks like its on good shape. Clean truck. You could put the wheels and tires up for trades local to you. That way its not, much if any, cash out of your pocket. Most of your other issues are normal ones. Just keep plugging at it. Welcome!
