    1983 K5 blazer 6.2 wiring cleanup

https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/1973-1991-wiring-manuals.14498/ I’ve figured out all the wires but the blue and red ones. I even went and looked at my other k5 blazer and it has them but it doesn’t go to anything.

    NV4500 swap behind a 5.3 LS

@SquareRoot vacuum. I’ve been trying to find some local for up to 300. Can’t find any within six hours. If all else fails I’ll get in touch about yours. Or find a complete truck for <$1000 @Drauka99 not sure yet, it’s farther back than the sm465 but I’ve got a cleaner tunnel from an automatic...

    NV4500 swap behind a 5.3 LS

@SquareRoot i didn’t think that logic was too bad lol, but parting out trucks is what I do on the weekends. It’s what I do to get the 5.3 for my swaps, and I usually end up with a free driveline plus a few dollars. Except this nv4500 swap. Still gonna have $500+ in the trans swap by the time...

    NV4500 swap behind a 5.3 LS

I’m about at the point of buying a complete truck again lol hate spending a ton on one part when I could give a little extra and it comes with the rest of the truck

    1983 K5 blazer 6.2 wiring cleanup

The other end of the blue and red are wadded up and tucked in between the hitch and bumper. The other three wires the blue tan and orange go to the power tailgate? Edit: the red and yellow do go to a plug by the fuel tank, is red power of some sort and yellow was supposed to go to the gauge...

    NV4500 swap behind a 5.3 LS

@Ifyasquintitsmint id run a universal pedal but I kinda like my pedals matching and just being the rubber cover, I was never a fan of vehicles with the custom pedal covers

    1983 K5 blazer 6.2 wiring cleanup

I assume these wires brown, tan, green, pink w black stripe, go to gauges? They’ve all been snipped off and none of the factory gauges were used in the last 350 swap. These are the yellow and red wires. The red one goes into the bulkhead and the yellow has been cut. This harness has been cut...

    1983 K5 blazer 6.2 wiring cleanup

I’ve owned this blazer since february and I’m just now getting around to tinkering on it. It was originally a 6.2 diesel then a 350, I’m putting in an ls. Anyways, all the diesel wiring had just been cut off, noticed it when I bought it but wiring didn’t scare me so I’ve been cleaning up the...

    NV4500 swap behind a 5.3 LS

@SquareRoot currently 3.08’s with 28” tires.. stayed with the smallest tire I could to keep a little bit of torque.. I do plan on going lower in the rearend and going up a few tire sizes eventually. I’ve got 3/4 ton axles waiting to go in but I held off for wheel options lol

    NV4500 swap behind a 5.3 LS

@Ifyasquintitsmint whats the benefit of the AA bellhousing? I’m trying to get the best driveability from this truck. I’ve got 28” tires and 3.08’s I understand the gearing sucks. Any slight incline I have to take off in low. I do have a set of 3/4 ton axles I could swap in but I’d like to stay 6...

    NV4500 swap behind a 5.3 LS

Hmm this is the first I’ve heard of the slave and oil pan not getting along. For cross men ever I’m going to use one from a th400, since I heard that it’ll work? @BKING33 you mean like the master and slave of the donor truck? Or from an 85-87 truck? I saw where Jon Holovach used the...

    NV4500 swap behind a 5.3 LS

@SquareRoot i have the removable floor tunnel, I also don’t have a dizzy to hit on the firewall lol it’s got a 5.3L, I tried to get a measurement of the bellhousing face of the sm465 to the driveshaft mount on the back of the 205, cane to roughly 3’. Tried to get a measurement of the bellhousing...

    NV4500 swap behind a 5.3 LS

Getting a set of 85-87 hydraulic pedals is out of the question unless I stumble upon a complete truck I can snag quick enough for a deal. I’m wondering if I can’t use the master from the donor so I don’t even have to break the seal on the system and swap the master and slave over together. I did...

    NV4500 swap behind a 5.3 LS

The SM465 and mechanical linkage is being absolute junk. Second gear sounds like a grinder and the mechanical linkage has given me problems since I got the truck. I decided I wanted a five speed. Looked into an nv3500, trans alone was around $500 local. Looked for an nv4500 those cam closer to...

    Clutch issues

I’m stock height I need to do a suspension lift or at least new springs, rallies with 31’s filled the fenders. When I picked it up from the shop it had almost a 45° angle on the adjustment rod, dude said it was like it needed the zbar extended about an inch. I feel like that would mess with the...

    Clutch issues

It does hold tight when everything is resting up right. After you press it and it returns is when the issue occurred. It currently works fairly well other than I’d like it to start grabbing close to the floor, and the spring rubs the adjustment rod since I have it ran over to the frame. I don’t...

    Clutch issues

@DoubleDingo I had the fork replaced with a new one from lmc. The pivot ball was not replaced it was out of stock. Yes it looks better and with the spring attached to the frame it’s even better but it still has a little up and down movement. I drove it to work and back today without any issues...

    Clutch issues

On page one has two prior photos, right now the only issue I can come up with is the fork doesn’t want to stay on the stud like it should and as you press the pedal is rotates down a little possibly? I’ll have to watch it as someone else presses the pedal. The spring was originally ran to the...

    Clutch issues

The was never a rubber boot, I got everything from LMC I don’t know what happened with the boot could’ve been dude being frustrated I don’t know I didn’t do it. The throw out bearing was the 1697C. Here’s current photos

Brand new clutch fork moves up and down

Up to the bottom of the dash? And push it until there’s resistance? I can do that in the morning before work.

Brand new clutch fork moves up and down

My pedal doesn’t have rubber on it? There’s a rubber stop by the steering column but it’s not easily visible. The rod is straight with the fork pushed upwards, I don’t know what’s got the fork going downwards at the angle, but with the pedal up and clutch fork pushed up the adjustment rod is...

Brand new clutch fork moves up and down

In all fairness I’m not blaming them for the ujoint. It was the rear ujoint at the axle that broke. They removed the driveshaft from the tcase directly. I had the driveshafts pulled before I gave up and decided to pay someone else to do it so I’ll take the blame for the ujoint I must not have...

Brand new clutch fork moves up and down

As you can see in the photo the fork keeps coming off the stud and it rotates around and each position of the fork makes a different adjustment. Can I use a screwdriver and push the retainer tighter to the fork to hold it? Also pedal has no free play after it returns, I have to pull it up to...

Brand new clutch fork moves up and down

How so? Every bit of what was replaced was direct replacements from LMC for a 78 k10.
