    Tire and wheel change

I'm not trying to pester him... just wondering. And I don't always assume good body work, paint and clean interior means no twisty. Some goys put a lot of work in their builds and still work the trucks pretty hard. My mistake is seeing every square working and playing pretty hard, and that...

    Tire and wheel change

Ron I'm worried about your tire clearance. I don't see any. Do your rims have less than 4.5 offset? And something else... it looks like stock front springs at half mast.. I mean negative arch. Yet your truck looks lifted? Illusion?

Depends on tire brand because some 33s could be actually 31.80 for example.

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Just a note on front lift springs over 4". They are over sprung, anf for a reason. If those high arch springs flexed anymore than few inches a big bump would cause the arch to flatten and the rear eye would harshly contact the frame behind the swinging shackle. You have never experienced...

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

They should never have called them Bushwacker, because one whack from branch or sapling and they become bush whacked ...= broken.

    Aftermarket aluminum intake worth it?

Back in the 70's everyone with a Camaro or Trans Am was dropping on intakes and headers. On their stock engines still under warranty! Eventually a few of these 350s ran so hard.. needed rebuild. Good valve job, maybe deck the block, and for sure high compression pistons. Put the intake and...

My teenager's first small block build

If the crank needs regrinding... and if you intend to buy pistons, consider a 383 stroker kit.

    Nice looking truck in Dallas

Try and find out what the gears are in it. That's an extra expense if it hasn't been geared down. Or run smaller tires. The boy won't like that.

4x4 Transfer Case Visor Instruction Labels

I realize this thread is about the visor sticker... but just saying, I have drove GM and Ford, Dodge and Toyota 4x4s. Every one of them I shifted in and out 2x to 4x HIGH at any speed at all. Just take the torque off and pull that fricken lever. Only going into LOW you need to stop and neutral...

Thoughts on going to a 4spd overdrive?

Yeah I get that, but I'm speaking from my experiences in my location. Here in BC it's hard to find old squares (especially the 70s) with any automatics. Go to Alberta and they were mad about 3/4 and 1 ton trucks... not so many 4x4s... and autos, which would be 400s. Further east to Saskatchewan...

Thoughts on going to a 4spd overdrive?

No one mentions that 700s are very expensive to rebuild when compared to everything else. Try building one up stronger than stock, look out.

Thoughts on going to a 4spd overdrive?

That would surprise me. So where are they all now? You can still find 400s in every junk yard and farmers field. 700..s not so much.
