How to pick the correct headers...

You will want to pre-fit the tubes before you paint them. Don't be afraid to pound dents in them for clearance. Also check where the header bolts pass close to any tubes... you might want to clearance there a but too. If you can, sandbast the headers before painting. If you go that far see if...

    Body Panel Alignment Tips

I'm not the only one here... the other guy described the process better than I could have, because it's been a while. A big long flat screwdriver or prybar and a little hammer. Tap tap.. doink.. ! It's in! And then you go "dang that was easy".

I have a question, hoping to get some help.

Keep in mind when people are selling their junk... if no one buys it they end up paying to get rid of it.

99 GMC Sierra Classic (old body style)---What distributor do you suggest?

I had similar problems with my K20. Sometimes would lose spark altogether. I found that power wire that plugs into the dizzy was worn out and loose. I cleaned it up and there was improvement... for a while. I didn't have another plug... which is strange because I have several old dizzys ... so...

Auto or manual locking hub ?

There's still a lttle bit even in 2x. hose spiders have a lot of metal to spin when differentiating is going down. Wide tires make it much more obvious... and of course the wide rubber itself is skidding the inside of the tread. Maybe that's more of what we are feeling is the tire scrubbing.?

    Sandblasting advice needed.

Many of us have been sandblasting fendera and what not for decades. Maybe of the sandblasting company only does bridges and heavy industrial... and they would be using really high pressures and a heavy coarse medium. The application has to be suitable for the material. I have sandblasted very...

Auto or manual locking hub ?

I find in winter slippery conditions, in 2wd I can still stop faster with the hubs locked. I don't know why... perhaps the added drag. But the best braking is with 4x engaged. At least that's what I noticed and with all trucks I have drove in winter, including my '98 Tacoma.

I'm sorry William there's a few glues being discussed here. Do you mean the Quick Grip?

Gluing in the broke out piece

What type of glue will hold that nylon (or is it fiberglass?) reinforced plastic? The material they make cordless tools from, for example. It seems the best I can find only forms around the broken joint and 'suction cups'... not melting into the parent material.

    Clunking noise when starting

Mine does that too, and I changed starters with no difference. The ring gear looks fine, like really nice but it clunks just like a missing tooth. I got missing teeth alright, but they're in my mouth. ??

So, how gnarly do you want to go? Or, how much do you have to spend on it? If you put lockers on it, it will be really really hard to get stuck. Those go forever wheelbases, the front end is hip deep in much and rear wheels are still on the pavement. Need air lockers front and rear for a full...
