    BFGoodrich or Cooper?

It depend on the snow... or the region. For example I live in mild temps, and mud tires are fine in 'snowball' snow. Go to Alberta where is -30 and everything is slippery.

    BFGoodrich or Cooper?

Yes your correct but my point is that the All-Terrain tread pattern on say the 35" tall tire is large enough it works in the mud, even thought it is "all terrain". I also understand the narrow vs wide... an average driver is better with narrow... an advanced driver that can handle some drifting...

    BFGoodrich or Cooper?

The old school BFGs are still my first pick.. but in lager sizes to be fair. 33 and up. The 35s tread becomes a mud ire at that size. Good on ice, and snow. That truck is insanely beautiful btw.

Are shims still needed after cab mount replacement?

It helps to have a really level shop floor. Failing that, put a level on the diffs and shim under the tires to level the 'feet'. This is assuming the suspension isn't sacked.

Are shims still needed after cab mount replacement?

If your original mounts were completely blown out maybe the cab was sitting on metal. In that case then yes your poly mounts would feel better.

Are shims still needed after cab mount replacement?

Don't use them on your truck bro, if it's not too late already. You won't like them. You'll feel the chitter more than with rubber... and maight even make for a louder cab (road noise... sound of screaming and breaking bones as you.. well you know)

You will need to move up to a D60 up front. The Cummins will be too much for ten bolt housing... forget about the wimpy axles and knuckles..

    BBC 205 4l80e conversion

Just a comment on the 205 transfer case.... highly recommend you look at converting to twin stick. If you do any kind of real work off roading or even highway winter ice conditions, you would have the advantage of running front wheel drive only. Works awesome on greasy mucky logging road...

    BBC 205 4l80e conversion

I would never consider moving the engine forward, especially a big block. Squares are already disadvantaged with the weight bias and it's exacerbated with a BB.

Problems with lift kit (ORD) install...

Just some history fyi... In the '70s dirt bikes gained an inch of wheel travel every year. When gas charged shocks arrived, we discovered they could be run body up, shaft down. This reduced a lot of unsprung weight from swing arm and rear wheel, allowing the suspension to react much quicker. Of...

Problems with lift kit (ORD) install...

I agree but add that we need to keep in mind we are at war and everyone is running with extra stress than normal. Having said that, regarding the saps that just effed up the OP's truck even cutting them slack still leaves them in complete clown world and making things DANGEROUS.

1987 Chevrolet V20 front leaf spring replacement

And longer shocks required for more droop. And stock length shocks will ot last long if you are off road causing the droop to terminate at the bottom of the shock travel. It's called topping out the shock and it's worse than bottoming out the shock. Longer upper shock mounts needed.. Use old...
