    Remflex?

If I start remming a little to aggressively I can get some flex.

    Traction?

This conversation makes me miss the 70's.... and N50 series tires.

    Terrible Gas Mileage

You can kill fuel economy with overdrive as well. If the truck is geared too high it will lug in overdrive and not be operating in the sweet spot. In a heavy truck I like to gear extra low with an overdrive transmission and think of it as a 4th gear rather than overdrive. IMO there is nothing...

    Traction?

Prbaby easier to find a GM 14 bolt, 10.5" full floater and then a D60 rear end. Don't get a 9" 14 bolt semi floater... however it is strong but not as much as the 10.5. That's our Holy Grail rear diff.

    Traction?

The ORD/Tuff Country anti-wrap bar is for the buck, a hellova bang. But they do cause slight binding when the suspension compresses as the leaf stretches out it also stretches the anti-wrap bar. The rubber mounts take the movement. The second set would be terrible on a truck as they clamp to...

    Traction?

You're going to gain a lot of weight adding the D60, not that this should be a deal breaker... the extra weight will help with traction!

    Traction?

What Cog said, lol! We all ran 'traction bars' on our hot rods in the 70s. They actually did burnouts even better when the diff wasn't hopping and stretching our leafs to extinction. To be fair, you comment has relevance if we were talking about a 4x4 with big tires and some power. In sand for...

    Traction?

Ladder or traction bars do not help with traction, despite being called that. They stop the diff from twisting and rebounding (wheel hop) caused by; power and tire traction. A 12 bolt isn't really any stronger than a 10 bolt and whatever the rear end is, if you have enough power and a light duty...

Remove Lift and Figure out what I have....

I would first determine what the gears are in the diffs, and then you'll know what size tires you should be running. And THEN consider how much lift you want. Also, an honest review of what you intend to do with thew truck. Like how deep off road do you want to go?

Another cam thread... But maybe not the usual.

You don't need crappy heads to produce torque. Since you're looking at a 350 why not stroke it to 383? There's an instant advantage to producing torque right there.

    Commuting on a Moto

That was the EXC model I suggested. EXC pertains to KTM... not sure what the Husqy designation is. These bikes btw can easily be boosted to some 70 hp with no problems other than a measly $650. And these mods makes the bikes more reliable too. Win/Win.... Spin/Spin !

    Commuting on a Moto

Nice to hear you're still riding. It's been 8 yrs for me and I miss it, well... a lot more than women! So I don't have the regular aches and pains from riding and taking dirt samples... yet I have more pain without this level of exercise. I still plan to get back into it. Now that I'm in my...

    Commuting on a Moto

Oh that's awesome, good for you. Sorry but I was afraid you might be one of those guys who never rode before. I never advise adults with no kid experience riding to get into the sport. As you know, bikers crash... and it's something you want to learn top do when you still have rubber bones. I...

I did some stick welding last week with my 255... 7018 1/8"... very nice! You know how wire feed can make an inexperienced welder look good? Well this was about the same.

EZ Ride springs: Regular or HD

Yes you can do this to. Flipping it takes it out of the spring pack equation but then it's a 'catch' for brush, dead cats and such..

EZ Ride springs: Regular or HD

yeah we knew that but thanks for reconfirming. So that bottom leaf can be trimmed down to reduce spring rate a little. You can do this while it's on the truck. Jack up the front and set the frame on stands, so the suspension droops. With a 4" grinder and thin zip disc whack of 3/4" from the...

    Porter cherry bombs?

IMO it's more about the noise maker than the noise controller. I mean a high compression large cubic engine will sound better than anything else doesn't matter what the muffler is. Also it seems no one considers the sound of music underhood is effected by the intake. For example, a tunnel ram...

Wire coming out of rear shocks

A note on air shocks... Using these to lift or hold a load up is just waiting for the shock mounts to break. Shock mounts are not and have never been designed to hold weight. Yes we used them in the 70's to jack up our Trans Ams and Novas to clear the 5o series tires, and even though these cars...
