    Driveshaft vibration

I just had to mention this because I chased driveline vibration for a long time on my dually (avatar pic<<). Higher tire pressure helped, weight in back helped but it was still there. Finally changed out rear tires and vibration is gone.

    Hypothetical SBC question

Hose clamp and piece of leather or rubber. Back n the 70-80s, a popular 4x4 magazine had a write who was this old guy. He had a Jeep and a dog and crazy stories about his off road lifestyle. He did the most insane repairs to make it home. One story was about pulling a bad piston. He carved a...

    "Hypothetical" Question (Wink Wink)

FACT... the 700 is an expensive tranny to rebuild or, build up. Even so, they don't like to be lugged around. A BB with torque can produce low rpm grunt that ravages a 700. No towing or snow plowing. Gear low enough to treat your overdrive like 4th gear. Don't think you can lug in overdrive on...

    Removing cab from frame

The two outside seat belt mounts, and a third strap to go through the shifter hole or tranny hump (if removed) with a 'T' bar underneath. But with an 2wd and automatic you don't get the hole in the floor. So why not drill a 3/8" hole as far forward on the hump as you can? Put a big washer...

    1981 k30 crew cab dually

Welcome to our home Kendall, we really appreciate young men like you. Regarding used tires.. rear tires on a dually... I'm not sure about this but what I seem to be seeing are potential balance issues with used rubber on dual wheel applications. Now I have years of experience with used tires...

    What am I looking at?

You can run them both all the time. It's just cool to have the 'economy' mode. They sound rappy and tinny when lean, and then when you fatten up it sounds like a totally different engine. BTW, running propane lean doesn't burn up pistons, it just makes less power. MUCH less power.

    What am I looking at?

Run propane with 10.5 - 11/1 compression. Anything bigger than a 350 will need 2 mixers (propane carb, Impco 425). The second mixer and regulator (evaporator) can be on an electric solenoid gas valve. You can run on one carb but power will be low. Hit the Mad Max switch for the second carb and...

    Windsheild Frame Rusted

What a crappy glass shop. They just gooped the window in over the rust wtf. They should have called you and gave you a chance to deal with it first. At the very least, wire wheel the rust off and hit it with converter. AT THE LEAST.

    Any help is appreciated...

Unplug the hot wore for the dizzy and take a look at the terminal inside. Depending on year, it should be female. I was able to slip the plastic cover back and squeeze it tighter. (don't you wish you could tighten up yer woman the same?). The lead up inside the dizzy is male and I sharpened the...

    which head to use.

That's a smoking deal and they are better than the GM castings. They won't crack first time you fart. Probably one of the best bang for buck aftermarket heads out there.

    Rear sway bar

My 86 K2500 is also a Camper Special but it doesn't have the anti-sway bar. I think all the dually Camper Specials have the bar, but not the regular like my K2500.

Tire time need thoughts on slight size change

The BFG T/A KO would be suitable, and it's one of the shorter rugs too. I would have to agree, he did say he needed traction on the farm. Taller is better for that. Well he's just going to have to re-gear then. And I think he should drop in a BB too. If he already has that then at least...

Tire time need thoughts on slight size change

I would go even wider, but I'm like that. 265/70/16 Actual tire height will vary with manufactures. There are some solid choices in E rated. https://tiresize.com/tiresizes/265-70R16.htm
