    Upgrade order

Do it all at once Mike... like an engine builder would do. I like to set the valves before I install the intake... I find I can see what's going on a lot better regarding getting the lifter on the heel of the cam. Tighten to zero lash and then add 1.5 - 1.75 of a turn down. New lifters... NO OIL...

You’re Doing it Wrong !! Two tone Paint

My biggest pain is when the new '81 fenders hit the scene. They lost that body line where the chrome (aluminum actually) strip was mounted and curled around the front fender facing to the rear. That is where the two tone border was. With or without the body trim, it looked great.

    Dana 44 Flat Top Value

Drivers side always has one... it's finding the passenger flatty that makes it a big deal. As Kilian above said, it's required for that second steering arm on a cross over steering setup. A good machine shop can drill and tap the flat top for the tapered steering arm studs.

    Best Choice for Drivetrain

I have always drove my autos like a standard. I decide when to shift, after all I AM the shiftpro. You know driving around town. Just relax your gas pedal foot and bing bing it's shifted into 3rd or 4th. In order to make it downshft you have to put your foot into the pedal... lugging then the...

Exhaust Manifold Removal for Headers Install Questions

How does you starter wiring look? You may want to reroute it somewhat. I also like to use the heat reflective on my starter where it's gets warmed from the header. You can find this product at a decent motorcycle shop.

1988 3/4 Ton Suburban - Front Leaf Spring Options

Truck looks like it has been lowered... Front springs on 4x4 are flat from factory... sacked they get a reverse arch. Coil springs simply do not lift the truck to where it was originally. Here's a tip for 2x trucks... if it's has a small block, install heavier springs from a 454 truck. Raises...

    Header Mounts

You can 'port' your headers too, if you have too much time on your hands. Using the gasket, verify that the header does not step over the exhaust port. If the header flange opening is larger than the exhaust ports, no worries.

    Header Mounts

Close to the header... sometimes tough to get a wrench in there. Not all wrenches are thin like a Snap-On.

    Lift kit

Everything Bextreme said... I would consider 4" lift springs... smaller can of worms. You can lift the body 1" but please NO MORE. First choice is Tough Country. If you're interested in a rear shackle flip, and your transfer case has a CV joint on the end, all you need to do is point the rear...

    8inches 38s

Move your axle forward with a zero-rate/easy inch spring plate with offset pin. Slide cab back as far as possible , if it has any leeway. Some do.. some don't. Don't use any spring other than; Deaver ORD custom multi pack (Deaver copy) or Tough Country for budget.
