    Bed interchangeability

I thought Cab and Chassis trucks had longer wheelbase to accommodate 9' and 10' beds? If it had a standard pickup box on it, you should be fine, but if it had a flatbed, you might check the wheelbase.

Welcome from Rapid City. I go thru there once in a while on my way to see my kids in Colorado. The donor truck I am taking sheet metal off for my 78 is from Nebraska.

Blazer/Jimmy- Suburban, back window dust air scoop.

Do they help keeping the snow off the back window? If I'm driving in the snow my back window gets covered in a very short amount of time.

Reasonable price on 86/87 K30 CUCV with 30k miles and has been sitting for 2 years

CUCV's usually had about 50,000 miles or less on them when the government got rid of them. I' ve seen several squares on the road with under 100,000 actual miles on tnem, and several intne 50,000 mile range.

Reasonable price on 86/87 K30 CUCV with 30k miles and has been sitting for 2 years

Y yeah, the axles, tranny, and transfer case are the big draw. Should have a 205 transfer case, the Blazers had the 208’s. If you watch the government auction sites, they usually bring $2000 - $3000, not running, and sometimes the bodies are pretty rough. The one you are looking at was...

    How do I open hood?

Man that sure doesn’t look like mine, I don’t think I have the hole on the right under the latch. I’m in Colorado visiting my daughter, but I’ll check when I get home Monday

    How do I open hood?

Thanks Bucket. Yeah, it is a nice clean clip. I won't be able to get back to it until the first of the week. I'll see if I can get something in there to activate the lever then. I guess I'll be sure to attach some type of cable to the latch if I ever do this again.

    How do I open hood?

Yeah, this one had the inside latch. Is it the part that sticks up what I have to push? Its been a couple of years since I took it apart and I forget where the cable attached. There's very little room to get in there, even with the grill off. I tried going in from the engine side but couldn't...

    How do I open hood?

When I pulled the front clip off my parts truck, I closed the hood after removing the release cable. Now I am trying to take the the clip apart and can’t get the hood open. The grill is foo but I can’t see any way to release the latch.

What have you done to your square lately??

I don't know for sure, never looked at the sticker. It won't be that color when I'm done. That's why loosing the seat doesn't really bother me, it was green too.

What have you done to your square lately??

Dug the replacement cab for my 78 out of storage, pulled the doors and seat off to lighten it up. I made a dolly for it and moved it in to my shop so I can work on it this winter. Dam mice chewed up the seat while in storage, wasn’t planning to use it on this truck, but it was still in pretty...

    Body installation

Welcome! I can't give you an exact answer, but there is a difference in the pickup mounts between the early style (80 and o!der) and the newer ones. They can be swapped with some slight modifications, so I am guessing the Blazers would be similar. I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you...

    Diesel won’t start

I used to make my own biodiesel, ran it in my 7.3 Powerstroke, and TDI Beetle. Never had any pdoblems with tnem. With fuel prices going up, I'm thinking about making it again. Haven't made it in a few years, and don't think I ever ran any in the CUCV.

critique my door hinge replacement plans, please

Does it need new hinges or are the bushings just worn out? You can replace just the pin and bushings.

    Diesel won’t start

Pretty sure it's 12 volt, starter and glow plugs are 24. I'll give that a try today, didn't really think about the solenoid before. I've never changed it, but I've only put a few thousand miles on the truck. Pretty sure the PO changed it before I bought tne truck. Been thinking about...

    Diesel won’t start

Just like turning the key off. Didn't think about that, like losing spark on a gas engine. Checking power to the solenoid should be easy, but how do you check the solenoid?

The pump on tne CUCV is the original, I haven't pulled the 82 pump yet. Would the CUCV have a " flex ring"?
