    Kool Deadwood Nites 2022

Gonna be a bunch of squarebodies at the auction, including a 2wd K5. Here's a link if anyone is interested: https://mcpherson.auctioneersoftware.com/auctions Not sure what day I'm going over there, probably the day of the car show.

    Push bar

Don't know if it's becoming popular, but with the amount of deer that get hit around here, I have one on my 78 and my Powerstroke. The CUCV usually has a snowplow on it, or I would put the original grill guard back on it. Just came up on an accident this afternoon where an Expedition hit a...

What new tools have you got lately?

Also picked up a nice plunge router and bits from the same sale for another $50. Been wanting to upgrade my old router for one that takes 1/2” bits.

What new tools have you got lately?

Been looking for a vintage Craftsman tool chest for about a year or so, ever since I picked up a nice top box at an auction. Everyone that I looked at was either overpriced or only had 5 drawers or 4 drawers and a storage bay at the bottom. Found this one at a yard sale today for $50. No...

    Let's talk vehicle security...

When my clutch linkage from the pedal wore out on my Powerstroke for the second time (cheap pot metal with a plastic bushing), I made a new linkage with Hiem joints on it. Unfortunately the safety switch would not fit the new linkage. I planned to modify it, but just put a bolt in tne switch...

    Splined Wheels?!?!

I would bet someone out there can use them. I had a couple of Sunbeam Alpines, but none with wire wheels. Not too many Sunbeams around, not sure where you could advertise them other than ebay or Hemmings. Mine was this style, unfortunately it never looked that good when I had it. As a side...

    GMT400 door swap

I don't think my son will go with the fancy bushings, it's just a beater truck, but will keep them in mind if I do another GMT400years. I bought tne parts truck hoping it had a NV4500 in it (it didn't), but it has a good passenger door, and his is pretty beat up. Figure I have to use something...

    GMT400 door swap

Thanks Andy, that's what I thought, but wanted to be sure. Both trucks are the same year, I think.

    GMT400 door swap

I want to swap a door on my sons GMT400, but see that the hinges are welded on. Can I just knock the hinge pins out and swap the doors? Are there any tricks to removing the hinge pins? It doesn't look like there is much room to get at them.

    NV3500

Just picked up a 92 Chevy 1500 sight unseen, at an auction. It had a 5 speed in it, and I was hoping it was a NV4500. Unfortunately it is a Getrag or NV3500 (havent had a chance to look for a tag). I was hoping to put the 4500 in my 78, but now I'm not sure what to do. I don't have much in...

I guess I’m the exception, mine are beaters/work trucks/snowplow. I do hope to restore/customize my 78 stepside, but haven’t started yet.

I probably have the door glass and vent window, will try to check tomorrow. I fly in to MSP quite often if we could meet at the airport. (Actually going through there Saturday, but don't have much of a layover)

    100 Squarebody Auction

Wow! That's a hell of a collection, doesn't give a backstory though. Bunch of Chateau's, didn't think they made a very many, they must have searched hard to find them. Wish there were some parts and parts trucks, that's not too far from me.

Probably need an adapter, possibly a different input shaft, depending on what transmission is currently in it.

Derek, Thanks, that's exactly what I needed. I thought it might be under the filter but didn't see any wires. I check it right now. Jeff

Ok, thought I could figure out what that was, but I have no clue. Is it under the filter? Any more details would be greatly appreciated.
