Thanks Bucket, I took it loose at the transfer case and still had a little trouble getting the cable through. Cable housing looks OK, no kinks or anything obvious. Put it all back together and the speedometer is still bouncing a little, I'll see how it does after driving a little, if it... -
What have you done to your square lately??
My speedometer has been jumping around, so removed the gauge cluster and pulled the speedometer cable out of the housing. I cleaned it, lubed it, and tried to reinstall it, but it won't go all of the way back in, lacking about an inch or so. Is there a trick to getting it back in? Do I need to... -

Made a new dolly for working on the cab. The first one I made didn’t work so good, this one is 100% better. It bolts to the front and rear cab mounts and rolls great. The first one used air filled tires, which I thought would be better, but they were always losing air and didn’t roll as good... -

Buses aren't just for rednecks anymore !!!
The Flex is cool, but because of it's age, everything needs to be updated. Finding a newer bus as a donor would give me better axles, brakes, and driveline. That bird sounds interesting, how much? not sure if a 8.3 would fit ( kind of long), I like the Cat I have but its heavy.- SDJunkMan

A couple of great deals! I had a skoolie years ago, before they were cool:p. Got rid of it after the kids grew up and moved out on their own. Been looking for a deal on a rear engined one, need a backwards rear end and possibly the rest of tne driveline for my 1947 F!xible Clipper pusher...- SDJunkMan

Looks aftermarket, considering the light, I think you are probably correct, backup lights. The light would remind you they are on so you don't drive around with them glaring at the people behind you.- SDJunkMan

Ok so I topped off the coolant the other day, let it run for a while and looked for bubbles, didn’t see any, so took it for a drive. It started hissing coolant after a couple of miles. Limped it home and pulled the shroud since it appeared to be leaking behind it. Finally saw where it is...- SDJunkMan

How do I know if I have a bad head gasket?
I'll try that. It smokes a little when cold, but as soon as it warms up, the smoke goes away, no steam. Also, after it overheated, I filled the overflow reservoir, and it is still full, even though the coolant level apparently went down, wondering if I may have a bad cap.- SDJunkMan

How do I know if I have a bad head gasket?
While plowing snow last week my CUCV overheated. I had it plugged in for about an hour and a half, then started it and let it warm up for 15-20 min while clearing the windows and shoveling a little snow. I drove it about 2 miles, up a pretty steep hill, then it overheated. It was -18 degrees...- SDJunkMan

What have you done to your square lately??
Finally replaced my driver side mirror, the old one was getting a little rough, and was home to a wasp nest. Took a while to find a painted mirror that wasn’t too bad. Some fresh paint and it’s good as new! -
Any Green Squares?
I’m using the cab and front clip off this one for my 78. Bed is made into a firewood trailer. -
