Harbor Freight recalls 454,000 jack stands
Since the stickers are missing from mine, I dug out the reciept and mine are a different number than the recalled ones. I am thinking about modifying them to add a locking pin like the strongway stands have. -

That looks like an adapter plate under the carb, the hose probably went to the stock air cleaner. A 78 did not come with serpentine belts.- SDJunkMan

Bvllsh!t on craigslist.
Damm, the plow on that truck weighs just under 2000 pounds! I had the same plow on a Unimog and had to run a 2400 pound counterweight on the rear. I hope the frame has been beefed up.- SDJunkMan

Door Plastics and door glass questions.
The door panel is probably beyond repair, once they get that brittle they will keep breaking. The rear glass is different, glass from the rear doors of a crew cab should be the same though. It seems like they changed the thickness of the glass in the early 80's, but I am not sure what year... -

Driver Side Alternator?
A CUCV (military squarebody) had dual alternators, one on each side, but those were 6.2 diesels, so I don't know if the brackets could be made to work. I would include a pic, but am at work right now.- SDJunkMan

It is actually a 12/24 volt system. The 12 volt side was primilarily there to power radios and other military electronics. The starter is 24 volt but the lights, gauges, and heater are all 12 volt.
