    K5 Removable Top

I have never seen a steel top, I have a 85 and a 86, both fiberglass. There are a handful of bolts on each side to hold the top on. Seems like most guys that take the top off leave it off for the season, not just the day.

Need help finding one of these!

    Car trailer with a problem

I don't know how you would straighten it without a frame rack or some way of holding the trailer and pulling the tongue down. You might have to cut the tongue off and replace it. It seems kind of long, which might have been part of the problem. They must have really overloaded it to bend it...

Not sure what the doors I have are from. How can I tell what year they are? I bought them for a 77 but they could be newer.

1955 GMC truck ... ready to restore, but what model is it?

Nice looking truck, big back window is not real common (at least on Chevys of that era). Can't help with ID, checked my book but it doesn't have model numbers for the GMC's.

    Considering a M1008 Cucv.... Thoughts

Adding A/C is possible, there are a few guys on the Steel Soldiers web site that have done it. The 24 volt system just makes it more complicated. If you don't care about the 24 volt system, it's not hard to change over to 12 volts, the starter is the only thing that requires 24 volts, the...

    Considering a M1008 Cucv.... Thoughts

Thats what I do, but my truck is mostly used in the winter, so it's not a problem.

    Considering a M1008 Cucv.... Thoughts

Yeah, the lack of guages sucks, thinking of adding some to mine. Adding A/C would be tuff if you keep the 24 volt system, since there is an alternator on each side. You would also have to relocate the 2nd battery, since they are both on the pass side.

    Considering a M1008 Cucv.... Thoughts

The M1008 also has the good axles, just a lighter suspension. The M1009 (what I have), is the Blazer version.

    Considering a M1008 Cucv.... Thoughts

The axles are the biggest selling point (unfortunatly the M1009's dont have the good ones). The wiring is unique to them and if it has been altered it can drive you crazy. They don't come with much insulation/soundproofing, and are very loud inside.

What have you done to your square lately??

Yep, 115/145 was the good stuff. Not sure if you can get it anymore. I was an aircraft mechanic in the military. We used it when our planes were flying over water (when I was stationed in Okinawa). Under normal conditions stateside we ran 100/130 (the blue stuff).

What have you done to your square lately??

I got the burb home and felt up behind the dash and it feels like there is a cable attached. I probably will start pulling it apart next week and will let you know if it actually is electronic, but I'm pretty sure it's not.
