    Pulling transfer case question

That's what I was figuring would happen, have to make sure I have a drip pan and some rags handy. Will fluid come out of the tranny after the transfer case is off?

    Pulling transfer case question

I've never pulled a transfer case by itself, always with the tranny. Just wondering if there are any tricks to it or do you just pull the driveshafts, shifter, and unbolt it where it mates to the tranny. It's a 208 in a Blazer if that makes a difference. Also, is it going to leak a bunch of...

The clutch is here, 4500 conversion done by New Years. You hear that @frankenchevy?

Thanks Mike, I didn't think about checking the oil in the tranny, will be sure to do this when I find one. Like you said, getting the trans is the first step. I might swing by the u-pull-it this week to see if the tranny is still there, although I doubt it since it's been so long since I...

I knew that the input shaft on my 205 is wrong. I think the one on the Blazer transfer case is wrong too. I think AA makes an adapter. I may use the AA bellhousing if I can't find a more affordable option. I'm guessing you needed the hydroboost pedals because of the diesel?

The clutch is here, 4500 conversion done by New Years. You hear that @frankenchevy?

If you are asking me, it's going in a 78 shortbed. Don't know which way I'll go yet, that's what I am trying to figure out. When I found the truck with the 4500 at the u-pull-it, it was complete so I wondered if I could use the bell housing and clutch assembly from it in my truck. Seems like...

The clutch is here, 4500 conversion done by New Years. You hear that @frankenchevy?

Right now I am just trying to figure out what parts I need to do the swap so I can start collecting them. I have a stock 465/205 in the truck right now. Before Covid I found a mid 90's Chevy at the u-pull-it that had a 4500 in it, but they closed down for a while and I forgot about it. Need...

Pre-welded stake pockets or Bolt on? How good of quality is the aftermarket bedsides?

Ok, I see. I thought you meant that they originally came bolted. I suppose that you could put seam sealer between the parts if you used the bolted style, but then the bolt holes would be a possible place for rust to develop. Thats the problem with living near the salt air, definitely not...

Pre-welded stake pockets or Bolt on? How good of quality is the aftermarket bedsides?

I'm confused, I have never seen bolt on stake pockets, as far as I know my stepper is OEM, and the pockets are welded on.

Rivet nuts style extruded clips or Blind rivet nuts?

If you want to put them in the stock locations, the holes will probably be to big. I would think stainless riv-nuts would take a special tool, possibly hydraulic, to set them, I wouldn't think the normal tool would be stout enough for stainless.

Actual Vise Grips! They are only the 6", but still a great deal.

Menards has 6" Vice Grip clamps on sale for $7.99 this week, so I picked up a dozen. Can never have too many clamps!

    Buying Advice

I have had to replace the magnetic coil that operates my lift solenoid a couple of times due to wiring issues. I have an angling solenoid out right now, but since I usually plow with the blade angled the same way, I just disconnect the hoses from the pump to the angling cylinders and pin it.

    Buying Advice

Sounds like a good price. Looks like an older Meyers plow, probably a 7 1/2', same as I have on my truck. Pretty good old plow, parts are easy to find for them. Be sure to check all of the mounting bolts on the plow frame and make sure that they are secure, I've had some come loose and/or...

Questions about snow plows and mounts.

I agree. You have to understand that the length of the plow works as a lever when you hit something, and before you can stop you have possibly caused some damage. I bent up the main frame on my plow last year because a pin came out and the plow caught something and levered it around.

Questions about snow plows and mounts.

I have an old Meyers 7 1/2' that I bought in 1985. I plow a couple of parking lots and my driveway with it and it has held up well. All of the squarebodies use the same mounts so a used one should be easy to find. I wouldn't trust the receiver hitch ones for 300', possibly for a shore city...

    Homemade car trailers

I've built a few, but I always put short sides on mine to act as trusses so I can use lighter steel for the main frame.

    Cab swap?

I think putting a early clip on a late cab is ok, harder to go the other way because of the hood hinges. Everything else should be a direct fit (I hope so, cause I plan to put a late cab on my 80).
