What’s IT Worth? (Post all “what’s it worth threads here)

Probably not much pulling with it, mainly a cruiser. Actually at a farm auction, hoping not too many people realise what it is. Definitely better than the cost of a NV4500

What’s IT Worth? (Post all “what’s it worth threads here)

I have a chance to pick up a complete NP833 with transfer case and shifter from a diesel squarebody. Really want a NP4500, but this would be better than the granny 4 speed thats currently in my 78. I don't see a lot of information about them, what's it worth, and is it worth messing with?

    Np208 transfer case brace

Just found these pics of the brackets that go under the motor mounts for the rods that go between the dust cover and frame, if anyone is curious about what they look like.

    Old GMC Truck Auction

Mike, that's tempting, I'll have to think about it. I don't know if the cab mounts are the same as mine, it seems like I read that they changed during that body style. The frame under mine has been cut and shortened, and a bunch of crap welded onto it (and not nice welds or material). There is...

    Old GMC Truck Auction

Wow, what a collection! Hope your health concerns improve. I'm looking for a good 8' or 9' bed for a early 50's GMC, looks like you have a few, but Texas is a long drive from South Dakota :(

    Np208 transfer case brace

Well Dave, sorry, but I’m not going to be able to help you. The spare rod I have is too short, not to mention that my CUCV is also missing one! Hopefully I haven’t done any damage yet, since I use mine as a bulldozer, oops, I mean snowplow. Here’s a pic of the rod I have, it’s about 3” short...

    Np208 transfer case brace

I have a rod that came off a burb, will check it against my CUCV Blazer and see if it is the same length.

1976 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Great Prices All Around - $10,000 (sioux falls / SE SD)

No treasures, just junk (I crawled in through the cab). Back door was in pretty bad shape, and instead of fixing it they caulked it shut. I've only seen a couple of these and this one was the worst.

    Gelled fuel or bad pump?

I finally got it going, not sure what the problem was, but a new filter and a warm day, and it started. There was a little bit of moisture in the filter, maybe that was the problem? It doesn't have the original box type filter, I was having trouble with it s changed to a spin on, which doesn't...

    Gelled fuel or bad pump?

No electric pump, unless there was a stock one in the tank. I'll try the wire to the injector pump, forgot about that, but it still should have pushed fuel out of the filter. Maybe I'll pull the filter again and bring it inside to warm up. The fuel in it was liquid when I checked it but it is...

    Gelled fuel or bad pump?

Joe, thanks for tne reply. I usually run what I think is #1 diesel without additives (whatever is in the pumps on the regular automotive side, not the truck side, which I think is #2). The local stations usually switch to winter blend in the fall, depending on the weather, but our weatber has...

    Gelled fuel or bad pump?

Thursday I was getting ready to put the plow on the CUCV in anticipation of the snow that was coming. Started it up, moved it to where the plow is, and let it idle for a minute while I moved my other truck, and it died, like someone shut the key off. It was in the teens, thought it had winter...

    New tires and painted rims!

Looking good. How are the tires in the snow? I need to replace mine soon and need something better for the snow and back roads than the highway tread on it now.

I might have one, can't remember if its pass or driver side. I won't be able to check for a couple of days until I get back over to my workshop. I vet down to Denver and the Springs pretty often.

What have you done to your square lately??

Guess I’ll join the swap your radiator club. Last winter when it got down to -20 degrees the radiator in my CUCV froze and split. I pulled it out and soldered it, and thought it was good, but it started leaking again this spring. Never one to do anything when it’s easy, I waited until this...

What the He!! was I thinking?

Thanks @DoubleDingo, looks like a good writeup, guess I'll have to register on stovebolt so I can see the pics. I have a P20 chasis that I plan to use for my truck, so a lot of what he did for his build should be helpful for me. I also have a one ton dually chasis that I may pull the one ton...
