    Holy Grail of Squarebodys

My grandpa started the company in 1961. Stepside work pickups were more common back then, and was considered preferred for working out of. The headache racks and toolboxes they used were designed for stepsides, so that is what they continued to get in the 70's and 80's. They even retrofitted...

Cruise Control on 89 TBI Suburban

The cruise on our '90 suburban doesn't work. Everything is still there, so I'm not sure where to start to try and diagnose what is wrong. I suspect the switch on the turn signal stalk could be part of the problem as the wiper switch is kind of finicky and the delay wipers only work when they...

    Holy Grail of Squarebodys

My Grandpa and Dad had around 30 LWB stepsides in the '70's-'80's for their oilfield roustabout service. Some were half ton 2WD with 250 6 cylinders and 4 speeds, some were 3/4 ton 2WD 292 and 4 speeds, some were 3/4 ton 4WDs with 350's or 6.2 diesels and 4 speeds. I they even had a 1978 2wd...

    TPI parts worth swapping?

So '87 would have the 9th injector, correct? I was reading somewhere that TPI setups from '90-92 are the most desirable. Is there anything to watch out for with this '87 setup?

    TPI parts worth swapping?

https://www.bismanonline.com/fargo_nd/305_tpi_block_is_locked_but_all_other_parts_are_s I saw this ad the other day. I was curious if the TPI parts would be worth anything? What would need to be done to put a TPI system from a 305 on a 350? Are the injectors the same? Different tune? I...

Kicking around doing an LS swap

We had an '83 K20, 350, Quadrajet, SM465 4 speed, 3.42 gears, and 31" tires that used to get 14-15 mpg. I think you should get that carb rebuilt and check for fuel leaks. What shape is the distributor in? Plugs/wires? How is your timing set? Vacuum leaks?

    Wood stakes for step sides?

Is your '85 K20 a stepside? If it is, post some pics! I have fond memories of all the long box stepsides that my grandpa and dad used to have in their oilfield business back in the day....

    Dana 44 front on a 1981?

This is an interesting thread. My grandpa ordered a C30 cab and chassis with a 292, 4 speed, and 4.56 gears for use as an oilfield roustabout truck back in 1981. The truck came with a 350 because there was a strike at the engine plant that built the 292's at some point in 1981 evidently...

    1974 GMC Camper Special

My friend is selling his '74 Camper Special GMC 454 with factory AC. I wish I could buy it, but not in the cards right now. It deserves to go to a good home. Very original and nice condition. https://www.bismanonline.com/lansford_nd/1974_gmc_c25_sierra

    Flat towing a Suburban?

I haven't tried it yet. My motorhome does have the frame extensions that were poorly welded on. That was one of the first things we addressed because we do pull a covered trailer with it quite a bit and also will pull our side by side and atv's on a car trailer behind it. The 454 has plenty...

    90 TBI into 85 K10 gauges

How's your progress? You may want to check out this site: https://harristuning.com/Tbi/ I have a '90 Suburban and got a chip burned from them. They have some good stuff on there to optimize TBI's.

    350 to 366 swap in a 75 C 30, How much of a PIA?

What year is the C50? 1967 should be the last year of the 420. We have a '67 C50 with the 420 and a '68 C50 with a 5 speed.

Looking for 1973-1974 GMC Tailgate lettering.

That's actually the shop for my business.

Looking for 1973-1974 GMC Tailgate lettering.

This is my friend's '74 GMC Sierra Camper Special. It has the lettering like you are looking for. The chrome letters were an option on fancier pickups. I saw your ad on Bisman looking for the letter C. Wish I knew where another one was for you!

    Intake Manifold EFI 350

    1978 Silverado 4x4 custom?

Interesting that it says automatic transmission and doesn't mention 4 wheel drive. Is that the correct sheet or has your pickup been converted?

72-older SBC ram horn manifolds on a 73-up?

Took a couple pictures of the ram horns my dad used on his '77. The brown pickup in the center of the first picture is the pickup. The drivers side has a swept back outlet and looks like there is no issues with clearance or anything like that. I thought it was rather interesting that he had a...

72-older SBC ram horn manifolds on a 73-up?

If you are still wondering, I'm pretty sure my dad put ram horns on his 77 C10 when he swapped a V8 in place of the original 250 I6. I will take some pictures.

    1970 C50 2 Ton advice

I have a '67 C50 former grain truck that I use as a dump truck and a '68 C50 winch truck. I agree with @PrairieDrifter that the brake parts are easy to get and they are actually quite good. There would be no reason to go through all the work to convert them. Wheel cylinders can start leaking...

    305 to 350 swap

Check out https://harristuning.com/Tbi/ I had them burn a custom chip for me and am pleased with the results. They also have a lot of recommendations on engine modifications that work best with GM TBI.

    Trailer tires

Hankook now makes trailer tires. I have been running the Vantra Trailer load range E. They seem much better built than the Carlisle or whatever other Chinese cheapo's are out there. They are a mid range price, more than the cheapo's, but less than Goodyear.
