Lotsa nice squares on CL out here right now!

That would be the epitome of a "Frankentruck."

Yep, that’s cool that it’s a 4x4 too. I’d be leery of a MN pickup though. I wonder how rusty that thing would be underneath? On closer inspection, it looks like it has Montana plates…..and it’s a Cheyenne Super! Probably would be worth looking at in that case.

What’s IT Worth? (Post all “what’s it worth threads here)

We've been storing our old '68 C50 winch truck in the shed for the past 3 years, but have decided to sell it. Fired right up this evening, so I brought it back to the shop. No brakes though, so we have to look into that....350 SBC with less than 10,000 miles on it, 5 speed and pto driven winch...

Lotsa nice squares on CL out here right now!

There is a '74 Chevy C20 in my hometown that has been sitting in this guy's backyard for 25 years just rusting away. It's a 292 with a 4 speed and has the 292 badge in the grill. I tried buying it from him a while back, but he said it's not for sale. Bugs me that he's just letting it go to...

Does that '73 C20 have the 292 badging on the grill? Those are kind of unique and don't see many anymore.

What’s IT Worth? (Post all “what’s it worth threads here)

I found a picture of the muncie 3 speed OD I have for reference. I see that my transmission also has the toggle switch with it like you mentioned.

    Yes. You are correct.

What’s IT Worth? (Post all “what’s it worth threads here)

Yeah, the guy who took the pictures mounted it on a non-OD 3 speed to demonstrate what the bracket looked like. It has a notch in it to go around the solenoid.

https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/chevy-3-speed-w-overdrive-hurst-floor-shifter.154762/ Post #22 on this thread shows pictures of the Hurst mystery shifter that worked with these OD transmissions. If anyone has one of these laying around and willing to part with it, let me know. ;)

Bilstein 4600 Front Quad Shocks and Dual set rear 90 Suburban

So we are looking to replace the front shocks on our 90 V1500 suburban. From what I have been seeing on other threads, we should be just fine with just single front shocks on each side? Just want to double-check, I'd like to go with Bilstein 4600's and I believe the part number we need would...

What’s IT Worth? (Post all “what’s it worth threads here)

The saginaw 3 speed OD is more desirable than the muncie 3 speed OD because it has a synchronized 1st gear I believe. That is probably a good buy if the solenoid that engages the OD works. I have a muncie 3 speed OD that I would be willing to sell, but I'm a LONG ways away from TX. haha...

    8ft Stepside Bed

You bet! By the way....I do believe it is a square door gas fill one. Must have only been a 1 tank pickup as there is only a door on the passenger fender.

    Procomp 69 center caps

Look on the inside of the cap. If I remember right, there probably is a locking spring snap ring thingy in there that can be popped out and the end of the cap will come off.

I agree with this. This would be the simplest and most straight-forward option.

    Where to buy tires

The 121 load index (load range E) is plenty heavy for a 3/4 ton pickup. I sell tires and have never seen anything heavier (load range F or G) on anything up to a 1 ton. If more load capacity is needed, that is what dual rear wheels are for and every 1 ton dually I have ever seen comes with...

400 SBC Build - Tight Budget

I agree with @fast 99 . Torque is more important than HP in a pickup, so don't get wild with the cam choice. A 400 has great potential to make very good power with a RV type cam. A good set of heads will be the best bang for your buck.
