    I swapped out the bulbs in my instrument panel with green leds. Gives it a cool vintage 60s vibe, reminds me of Dads ol chebby Belair. I'm getting so jaded I just immerse myself in all things vintage-esque.

    Tall gears kill 700r4s...along with heat. I'd put a shift firming kit in while it's out. Eliminates the wear and heat caused by sloppy shifts. That, lower gears, (3:73 or4:10), and a 25k lb trans cooler and you'll be set. The 305 will tow until the cows come home...

    Is that actuator different than the others? Try cleaning and lubing the mechanism and checking the connections for corrosion. My old barn doors leaked badly. The hinge seals get brittle and crack. Rotted out the bottoms.

    LMC Tach Kit Install

    There's wiring diagrams all over the internet. I bought a factory tach cluster off fleabay, bought a gauge housing, pc circuit, and harness on line. They sent me the wrong harness. I just made it work. Cut the wrong power connector off and put a spade connector on it. It works.
