    They're not as heavy duty as you may think. Plenty of tanks have been dented with the oem shield in place, but to be honest I haven't read of any being pierced. The shields dent relatively easy as well as trap debris next to the tank. Just my .02, throwing it out there.

    85...i bet it has 14 bolt. If it's not the 10.5" full floater it's a 9.5" semi floater. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the 9.5" 14 bolt. Unless you're going rock bouncing or something like that. I prefer it myself.

    Changed the oil in my K5 Friday Discovered what I believed to be a np203 is in fact a np205! Yay! Never rellay thought about it due to the "FULL TIME FOUR WHEEL DRIVE" label on the sun visor! Glad I haven't try to wheel with it yet...lol Anyways, runs better after the oil change, as a chevy...

    I installed a factory tach from an 84. Bought the proper housing, harness, and printed circuit from LMC. Bought a used cluster from eBay for around $100. Would have used the entire unit but the tabs were broken off. Used the fuel gauge from the 84.
