I bought one (A833), but I have to go get it. I've been watching the old chevy training videos on y.t., they were pushing it in 84. I've read elsewhere the 6.2 with the manual overdrive would get mileage up to 24 m.p.g. in a c10.- Big Ray

Multiple those by .72 to calculate your effective o.d. ratio... 3.73 = 2.68 4.10 = 2.95 Some other options 4.56 = 3.28 4.88 = 3.51 I had an 87 with a 305, 2.73 gears without overdrive. Does my 79 have a fuel filter in unit?
And here's what the sending units look like. The filter socks clog up with time, and sometimes the pickup rusts up real bad, sometimes breaking off. Sometimes the rubber lines in the system swell up,, or dry out and crack causing air leaks.- Big Ray

Maybe it's not the pump... The tank will rust, clogging the pickup sock. If the rubber lines deteriorate, swell up, crack or swell up. If they're cracked they will suck air. I have the same issue with my 90. I have a reman i.p. and injectors. Going to upgrade to a 40 gal tank and replace the...- Big Ray

Very cool story. My Dad gave me his 87 he bought new. He had a deer jump into the B pillar at 70 mph, gave it to me. I had a grandma in a full size Mercury t-bone me. What have you done to your square lately??
I plan on using it in my old 3/4 ton r2500 burb. It has a tired old 6.2 with 385k on the clock. Might wind up just throwing a carb on it... -
What have you done to your square lately??
I bought a motor without the stock setup Came with 3k in New parts. Cam, lifters, roller rockers, Springs, distributor...basically everything to make it run minus an induction system. Too good to pass up, got it all for 2500$.
