    Quadrajet question

throttle shaft bushings. You can spend as much $$ as you want, but it will never run correctly with an air leak. All it will do is aggravate you to tears. Look at all the bad ass cars the general made with q-jets. They broke a lot of hearts in the day.

Low oil pressure but engine runs great

Put a good aftermarket guage on it. See what it's actually doing. Factory guages aren't known for accuracy.

10k for this one last Jan. Already had a couple of dozen offers to buy it. Paid $1500 for this one. It was 3 hours away. No tag, no title, no insurance...leave the guys house, jump on the interstate and a doggone state trooper pulls on right behind me. We get on proper and he just blasts...

    aircraft grade materials

And, the flanges (lips) give the metal strength and rigidity. I'm a retired civil service aircraft sheet metal mechanic of 35 years. I spent the last 20 in the manufacturing shop. It always amazed me how a simple bend or bead in a piece of flimsy, thin sheet metal would make it so much stronger...

    Drivers Side Drop Front Axle

I've always read/heard a 78-79 Ford dana 60 axle bolts right up. I can't swear to it yet. My green burb is a R20 (2wd). Long term goal is throwing an axle up front for it.

Replacing a 400 small block for a 454 long block

If it were me, I'd throw a retrofit roller cam and and a decent set of heads with 64 cc combustion chambers. I think you'll be surprised. 64cc heads will bump your compression ratio to 9.1. Here's a chart I found when I bought my rig with a 400 in it. BBC parts are expensive.

    Posi Traction

I went from 3.42 to 4.10 in my 89 pickup. Made a huge difference in acceleration. It was a nbs pickup with an electronic speedo, didn't know how to change it to read properly.

How old are the rubber hoses? The rot internally, swelling up and preventing pressure buildup. Sometimes pieces break off, gumming up the works so to speak.
