Rattle noise from A/C compressor
Intermittent problems are the worst. Were you able to duplicate the noise in the technicians presence. The person installing the new compressor should have at least noticed the missing hardware. Sadly most technicians these days are just parts changers, sorry.- Finkaire

My OE 1984 slider had a black frame, Silverado trim. Nice part about the tinted slider is that it cuts down the glare from the headlights behind- Finkaire

What have you done to your square lately??
New valve cover gaskets! What a chore, trying to fix a leak, changed out the oil sending unit behind the distributor as well.……Fixed! -

Adhesive remover
P&S supply has two products: Remove all or SolveX used at the dealer to remove cosmoline from the boat ride years ago. I used used it to remove any grease I might have gotten on the interior. Great stuff! -

Best I can do, this is left side without auxiliary right, if I had known it was only 16 gallons I would have ordered the duels hope that helps -

Also remember to test the detector, check the checker. Most leaks don’t get better, it should eventually show up visually as an oily spot. If you can’t find it on the engine side of the firewall it might be the evaporator. Tear down to inspect, maybe a bore scope, might have access through the... -
EGR Solenoid California Emission 1985 305
Just failed smog NOX. EGR valve I removed is aftermarket and has a spacer between the manifold and the valve. My question is: Is the spacer factory or did it come with the aftermarket valve, OE ordered. Thanks!- Finkaire

Alternative A/C Test Methods
A/C specialist 45yrs. primary/secondary, a leak is a leak. Had more problems with ball valves, always carried spares, shraders too. A nice tightly fastened service cap with a good seal might save a backyard wrench. -

Remove the bumpers, grill, door handles and all the trim to save money. If you know a good glass person have the front and rear windows removed. The only thing I left were the wind wings to be painted around, too difficult for my skill level. Oh, and the bed, the body shop removed the bed.- Finkaire
