    Squarebody Blazer/Jimmy. 73-75 or 76-87 better?

I got behind this one the other day, and it really got me interested in one Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

    Squarebody Blazer/Jimmy. 73-75 or 76-87 better?

I like what you've done, but wouldn't finding the windshield frame off a 73-75 be even harder than finding an entire Blazer/Jimmy from 73-75? After thinking about it, I think I like the idea of a 76-87 with a roof over the cab. If a 73-75 happens to turn up at the right price, I won't turn it...

Nice truck, and good point regarding the roof Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

You've got an Optima battery, which at NAPA runs $249 + $18 core, plus tax. That's pretty damn close to $300 https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NBPN997525RED Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

    Squarebody Blazer/Jimmy. 73-75 or 76-87 better?

So when you say full top conversion, are you saying the metal roof on a 76-87+ is cut to look like a '73- '75? Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

    Squarebody Blazer/Jimmy. 73-75 or 76-87 better?

What you do, is get on a ladder and take a pic with the hood closed. Then take one from the same spot with the hood open. Then somebody that knows photoshop combines the two pictures and does a little magic to get it finalized Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

Oh, it's not going anywhere. I like it. It's just not my favorite Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

    Squarebody Blazer/Jimmy. 73-75 or 76-87 better?

Sounds like good times. Yeah, the 67-72 Blazer/Jimmy are like 50K for one that hasn't been boogered up and has been restored. I'm not spending that. I have a '69 Chevy truck, and while I like it, I much prefer my SquareBody. It just fits me better and is more enjoyable to drive. Sent from my...

Lol. If $300 for a battery seems like a lot to you, definitely don't get a Tesla. You're looking at thousands to replace the batteries Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

    Squarebody Blazer/Jimmy. 73-75 or 76-87 better?

I'm thinking of adding a SquareBody Blazer or Jimmy to the stable at some point. It would only be driven during the summer, and the top would be off at all times. The rest of the time it would be garaged. It appears the 73-75 years had a complete convertible roof, whereas the 76-87 have the...

You're honestly just trading one problem for another with a Tesla. Tons of technology in them, and you know how quickly technology gets outdated. You're driving a 40 year old truck. Think a Tesla will be around being driven in 40 years? Doubt it. It'll be like a 10 year old iPod or smartphone 10...

Can't make it up my driveway

Replace the fuel filter AND run a bottle of Lucas complete fuel system cleaner in the tank. You might also clean your carb well while you're at it. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

Go on the LMC site. They have an area where they show you how to decode your VIN. It will tell you for sure GMC or Chevrolet, what plant it was built at, and some other things Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

Fix Slamming Doors - Striker Door Latch Repair

Yeah, the pex thing works. I did it and it helped, but a whole new striker with brand new pex that goes all the way around, and isn't all rusted and hammered and filed down is $9.95 per door. I ended up doing that and it looks and works even better Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

    Re-popped Bumpers

Keep in mind, bumpers get dented and bent. Other drivers in parking lots are idiots. On my Tundra, I have replaced my rear bumper 3 times in 6 years. People back up without looking or pull forward and don't pay attention and hit you and then just drive off. I'd hate to take an original bumper...

    Re-popped Bumpers

Try GMC Paul's. That's where I got my front bumper for my Square body, and the rear bumper for my '69. Good quality, and nice chrome...although not as thick as the stock bumper. I'm happy with how it turned out, and then I buffed my stock bumper guards and added new plastic to the fronts and all...

How does the oil gauge function? Mine is pegged to the right

I removed the air cleaner, and then got on a ladder and was able to reach back there. It wasn't easy, but perfectly doable. Keep in mind there is a wrench fitting on the top that you can screw it down with. There is also a nut fitting at the bottom. I had to remove the old crusty and over...

    Fixing Floppy Sun Visors?

The brackets have a spring up inside the hole, behind where they screw in to the headliner. As with most things like that, they wear out over time. I just replaced mine last week with new brackets from LMC. They actually say right on the page where you order them, that one tip to help old ones...

    Power Steering Return Fitting

    Questions about body work

Good to know about the patch panels being that close. I still think unless the OP moves or drastically changes when and where the truck is driven, it'll just rust again quickly. I've seen 8 year old trucks in Indiana and Illinois rusted out as badly as the OP's truck Sent from my SM-N975U1...

    Questions about body work

Looks like you are in Illinois. The rub with that, is that if you spend all the money to have the truck fixed with patch panels, it's just going to rust again. Unless you park it during the winter months and don't drive it at all, you're probably looking at it rusting again in 5-10 years. The...

Methods for getting steering wheel straight

They gave me a printout, and it showed that it was pretty far out of alignment (which I expected). I counted the threads on the old tie rod, and also measured it and set up the new one as closely as possible, but it's a crap shoot until it's aligned. I'll have to take a picture of the printout...
