Steering stabilizer. How the hell do I get the old one off?

Thanks! That link doesn't work though. Is it a tie rod separator set? Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

Steering stabilizer. How the hell do I get the old one off?

I bought a new rancho one. I'm trying to get the stock one off. I got the bolt off this side, and the bolt off the passenger side. The stabilizer shock lifts up easily away from the passenger side, but the driver side still is stuck on after removing the nut. How do I get the rest off? I've...

Non AC truck. Should the dial slide all the way to cool?

I was starting to wonder the same thing. Does that mean when the control is in the middle, in reality it's as if it is all the way to the left? How do I adjust the cable? Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

Non AC truck. Should the dial slide all the way to cool?

I lubed the cables you see at the top of the Pic. It's still not allowing full travel. Where is the plastic cover plate you're talking about? Can you point to it in my picture? Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

Non AC truck. Should the dial slide all the way to cool?

My temp slider stops right in the middle. I can slide it all the way to the right and it gets hotter and hotter as you get all the way to the right. The reverse happens and it gets cooler as you get towards the center and it stops and won't go any further. Should I be able to slide it all the...

How does the oil gauge function? Mine is pegged to the right

I'm not sure. I'll have to look again. It's kinda hard to reach back there. It's got a 6“ lift and 35" tires. Even on a ladder and with my long arms, it's interesting. So where should the wire come from that plugs in that sending unit? Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

How does the oil gauge function? Mine is pegged to the right

Is this it? Looks like it's missing the wire. I'm not seeing a wire dangling anywhere. Where should I be looking, as far as where the wire comes from? Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

    Cardboard thing behind seat.

Your seats look like they fold forward. I don't think mine does. Am I missing something?

How does the oil gauge function? Mine is pegged to the right

My '69 has a brass from the back of the gauge on the dash to the engine. I don't see that on this truck. I'm trying to troubleshoot why it doesn't work Sent from my SM-T720 using Tapatalk

Speedometer doesn't work at all. Where to start?

Update. I decided to try something. As I was driving today, I could hear something spinning back behind the speedometer. I decided to check the cable was in all the way. Turns out it was not. I needed to push it quite a bit further until that metal holding tab clicked. Took it for a ride, and...

Speedometer doesn't work at all. Where to start?

After more research, it is called a speedometer drive (or driven) gear. I also probably need a new housing for it (plastic piece that goes between speedo cable and transmission that speedo cable plugs in to). To complicate matters, I'm running 35" tires now, which means I could have gotten this...

Speedometer doesn't work at all. Where to start?

So is it called a Transfer case adapter? Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

Speedometer doesn't work at all. Where to start?

I bought a new speedometer cable today. I removed the cable from the transfer case to inspect it and the square shaft was broken off and the cable was all wound up. So, I removed the old cable and installed the new cable to the back of the speedo. Connected it to a drill, and low and behold the...

My next project: Hooking up a different washer pump/bottle

True, although this bottle holds more fluid than the stock one, and where the pump is built in to the back or the bottle, it makes for a very clean looking install. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

My next project: Hooking up a different washer pump/bottle

Unlug #3 in my picture. Cut the wires. Splice the red wire to the red wire that comes out of the new pump. Splice the tan wire to the black wire from the new pump. Super easy. I didn't have to do anything behind the dash Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

My next project: Hooking up a different washer pump/bottle

Thanks for the help everyone. I got it all working! I went with an '88 full size chevy truck washer bottle. It is bigger than the S10 one, the motor is on the back, and it has a third mounting hole for stability. I was able to leave the hoses plugged in the factory location, other than of...

My next project: Hooking up a different washer pump/bottle

Lol. Great ideas, although with a 6" lift and 35" tires, reaching could be interesting, which means being on a ladder... Which adds more complication Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

My next project: Hooking up a different washer pump/bottle

I did this mod on my '69 C20. You get a washer bottle from an early 90's S10 or an 88 chevy truck, and they have the motor built in to the tank. It's been years since I did the mod, and now I'm trying to remember how I did it. It doesn't help that square bodies have the pump in the engine bay...

    Horn not working

Fixed it! It was the horn relay that is up above the fuseblock. I bought a new one, and it's a thing of beauty hearing those horns come to life. It's actually a really nice clean tone. I'm glad I can go back to honking at idiots that don't know how to drive ;) Sent from my SM-N975U1 using...

    Horn not working

Well, if you followed my other thread, I finally got my heater working. Now, on to fixing the horn. The truck had a cheesy aftermarket steering wheel on it, and the horn did not work at all. I found a nice factory wheel with all the horn parts and installed it. I can tell the metal plunger on...

I bought some brand new headlight bezels and radiator molding. What total garbage!

Makes me wonder if someone took a truck like this to Count's Customs in Vegas, and spent 60K for a frame up restoration, if it would be fitted with that plastic crap. Probably. It'd look fine while they're standing out front for the reveal, but then after a year of driving it, things head south...
