High beam dash indicator comes on with low beams

I installed some new headlights that have white halogen 12V 60/55 watt replaceable bulbs. They have their own harness adapter that plugs in to the old headlight wiring plug. Anyway, all works great, except for I noticed that when the low beams are on, that the two little blue high beam...

    Synthetic Lubricants

I'm running full synthetic Lucas Oil in front and rear diff and transfer case. It's good stuff, and you can get it in big jugs. I use full synthetic grease in the zerks. It's the green grease that comes in the green tube. I use it on my tractor as well. Works really well and lasts. For the...

Good 12 volt source for LED halo ring on headlights

I got this all buttoned up. Thanks for your input. I was able to run clean/hidden wiring all the way back through the firewall, and connected to the fuse panel with one of those pigtails I mentioned earlier. The LED halo rings come on with the key, regardless of whether the headlights are on...

Good 12 volt source for LED halo ring on headlights

I didn't replace the fuse panel, but who knows if the PO did. I kind of doubt it though. It looks stock. 1980 was a bit of a transition year. You could get a truck with round or squarish headlights, so maybe they did something similar with the fuse panel. Who knows Sent from my SM-N986U using...

Good 12 volt source for LED halo ring on headlights

That's the beauty of this fused harness. You remove the fuse that's on the panel, install the two pegs from the harness in that slot. Then you plug in the fuse you removed, plus an additional one for the LED trim ring. They definitely should draw much power Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

    Tilt collum

I upgraded to a factory tilt. It definitely helps. I didn't like the feeling of the wheel being in my lap, and it wasn't as comfortable getting in and out. When tilted all the way up, it also gives a little more space front to back as well as room to stretch out my arm more when driving. Makes...

Good 12 volt source for LED halo ring on headlights

Good ideas. I was just going to maybe use a fuse like this. It plugs in to a slot on the fuse panel that comes on with the key and then the LED halo lights get their own fuse. Where they're LED, and just the outer trim ring (regular headlights plug in stock location) I figured that would be...

Good 12 volt source for LED halo ring on headlights

It is a 1980 truck. Choke wire sounds promising, although I'd prefer something closer to the front of the truck. I was also hoping to not have to carry the wires all the way back through the firewall and in to the cab to the fuse box, if I didn't go the choke route Sent from my SM-N986U using...

Good 12 volt source for LED halo ring on headlights

I ordered some of those headlights from LMC that have the halo trim ring. I'd like to wire up the trim ring to always be on with the key, whether headlights are on or off. Where would be the cleanest and easiest spot to do this? Each headlight comes with a 12 volt wire. Sent from my SM-N986U...

I want a rear sliding window!

K10= 1/2 ton 4x4 Chevy truck K20= 3/4 ton 4x4 Chevy truck K25 and K2500= 3/4 ton GMC 4x4 truck. I have heard 25 and 2500 used to refer to the same truck, but the 2500 was probably a higher option GMC truck, like a Sierra Grande. There may be a GMC K15, which would be a 1/2 ton 4x4, but I'm not...

    Anyone sell new Speedo needles?

Lol. Actually looks pretty good for what it is. Those things are so brittle, if you breathe on them they crumble. When I redid my cluster, luckily I had a doner cluster to use parts off, but even some of those crumbled on me as I was removing them Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

    Oil Pressure Gauge problems

To me, those parts are probably identical in function, but one is a silver metal finish and the other one is that bronze color. One could be their basic line, and the other a higher end offering, but both have same specs and functionality. I recently installed a new sending unit, and I got...

Sticky steering wheel and other plastic interior parts?

OK, you're in luck. I have one just like that. You'd need to use your existing horn button, as I don't have one for it. It's in good shape. PM me if interested and we can figure out something that's fair. You may consider not using a wrap on it, since that probably magnifies the problem you're...
