i seen were u pulled the top of the carb off without pulling the metering rods, u need to pull those out before putting the top back on u run a risk of bending them if u have not all ready
are u sure u have the firing order right , its easy to have a plug wire crossed u need to go over them again and make sure, send a picture of your plug wires showing them were they are at on the plugs
need more info on the carb , what size jets what size power valve make sure u have the right power valve no one here said any thing abought that if its blown that will cause the fouling plugs
welcome , first get your timing set and then go to carb setting, looking at the carb from the front use the port on the dr side its for vac manifold this is for your vac adv
are u running vaccume adv , u need some serious tuning on that carb , make sure to check your float levels , check your transfer slots on your secondary nothing else would make your plugs sooty but the carb and timing
u need to make sure your choke is closing all the way , when it starts push the choke open just a little bit not all the way , if it trys to die pull the choke shut just a little. there is a fine art to working a hand choke
good job on getting it running , now u know how to install a dist and set timing , good job young man thats make u feel good and have self satisfaction good luck
it should still run if its lean or rich ,it sound as if u have your timing pretty close. now we have to work on the carb. get u a light and shine down in the carb and see if u r getting 2 good solid squirts of fuel make sure dont guess
