5.3L LS checklist with part numbers

You’re better off in the long run using an lines. Plus fuel injection hose is $8/foot. You still may need a little of the hose to connect at the sending unit and fuel rail (or at least I did).

5.3L LS checklist with part numbers

Sorry here is the link for mounts https://www.ebay.com/itm/284974365592 Maybe the kit headers I use stay away from the frame than the stock ones. I've seen some people notch the frame there but I wouldn't recommend that. I had to use a new throttle wire as well to be long enough for the LS...

5.3L LS checklist with part numbers

Dude thats rough! I got my headers on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/313394910904 Looks like they are out of stock but you may be able to find a similar seller. I wouldn't recommend mating the engine trans with the bolts. Are you sure the clutch is clearing the bellhousing? Maybe check for wires...

5.3L LS checklist with part numbers

Full disclosure I went hydraulic clutch and am running an NV3500, so I can't definitively tell you exactly what you need. The only reason I brought it up is because when I was doing my research on keeping a mechanical clutch and a 4 speed linked with an LS, it would require adapters. I've seen...

5.3L LS checklist with part numbers

Nice to see you’re going manual on the LS. Do you need an adapter for it? Mine is 2wd so not familiar with the sm465. Depending on how the LS mounts you may need to move the trans position and change out driveshaft lengths. Are you keeping the mechanical clutch? I went hydraulic but if you stay...

Saw this meme and it was too good to pass up posting here. I have a feeling when this guy goes to sell it he won't be taking lowball offers....he knows what he's got!

    Totally Rusted out?

I thought of this as a business idea. Buying rust free and plentiful squares in the south then hauling them north for resale. Even have an option to put a full kit together with the truck (new panels, motor etc.) almost like how kit car companies do, and gear the business to the father/son...

    New member, '86 K20, question

The Tacoma forums reference the ford grease and that what I used for my slip yoke but for whatever reason, this transmission seems to port the transmission fluid to the slip yoke for lubrication. So after applying the ford grease, it was wiped away after a few hundred miles and the grease is now...

    New member, '86 K20, question

Not sure if its a Tacoma only problem, but my Tacoma has similar symptoms. Turned out to be axle wrap causing the driveshaft to move excessively in the slip yoke on acceleration/deceleration. It also doesn't help that the Tacoma slip yoke is only lubricated by transmission fluid (I've put grease...

What did you pay for a square

I got my 74 swb manual 2wd for 1400 in 2021 in Virginia, no engine but came with a 5.3 in the bed. The truck wasn't messed with much by previous owners, and it looked like the bed was replaced at some time, and floor patches made with high gage steel. Only visible rust was on the rockers and the...

What did you pay for a square

Not sure if there is any interest in this topic or not as it may be a bit personal for some, but since I didn't see a similar post I thought others may be interested in it as well. There are a few threads on how much people are selling a c10 for, but theres a big difference between how much...

    Recommend touch-up paint source

I've used ERA paint before for a couple projects (touch up on a 2014 Subaru and door jams on a 66 Nova). I got the primer, base coat, and clear coat from them, total was around $60 and it came out great when I bought it through amazon. Or if you prefer, you can likely get rattle can touch up...

    Window regulator part

Bummer....I already got the rollers so thats still the path I'm going down. I watched a couple videos on it last night and it doesn't seem too tough to remove the regulator. Frankly, I'm not sure what I was thinking when I asked if its possible to drill out the rivets while the regulator is in...

Replacing Rear Door Window Regulator and Rollers

Old77 I'm working on my front regulators...taking them out to replace the rollers. How did yours turn out? Did the split stud method work? Did you use a vice to press the rivet? Any other tips or tricks you have for this project? And does it matter which order I remove the bolts on the front...

    Window regulator part

In the case of not replacing the whole regulator and just replacing the roller, does anyone have a good reference on how to do it? It seems more difficult that I wish it was with a rivet and all. Will I need to take out the regulator or glass from the door? Anyone know the best way to get the...

    Sticky thread for lowering C10s?

Bluex....thank you! I'll give it a shot using the new ones, just wanted to make sure I'm on track to your recommended parts install. I'm installing the rear struts now at stock height since its a lot easier to work under the truck before its lowered and it needed struts (didn't have any when I...

    Sticky thread for lowering C10s?

Bluex I got the rear struts you recommended but they can with different hardware than stock where the strut connects to the frame. The problem with the new hardware is that if I install it in place of the stock hardware, I’m concerned it won’t be snug up against the frame and this will cause...

Whats the going rate for shortening a driveshaft? I think I got....shafted

Thank you! Aside from the paint and body, I built it in a storage unit, so given those limitations and my own experience I certainly appreciate the comment. I'm on stevesnovasite username elliot727

Whats the going rate for shortening a driveshaft? I think I got....shafted

Glad my experience helped at least one person. The actual length difference was closer to 1.5 inches, the Sierra trans being shorter than the s10 trans. I think both were technically the gen 3 NV3500–they both had internal slave cylinders. I think the Sierra was a 2006 but not sure about the s10...

C10 LS swap questions (I maybe over thinking)

Oo got it. There is the power terminal in the center of the firewall if you care to use it.

C10 LS swap questions (I maybe over thinking)

To use the stock gauges in the truck with the LS, I ran the existing wires to the LS. I bought a temp sensor adapter (can't remember the brand or dimensions but there are many vendors that sell them online). I'm not at my garage right now, but I'm fairly certain the stand alone harness has a...
