    7.3 Powerstroke swap

The majority of the newe heavier medium duty trucks in fleets seem to be Internationals and Freightliners of some flavor. Sometimes I'll see a newer F750, but not often. GM seemed to stop trying to cater to this market after they finally killed off the Kodiak and Topkick. They did let Navistar...

    7.3 Powerstroke swap

GM seemed to like to put Caterpillar diesels in medium duty trucks like the Kodiak and Topkick. I'm surprised they never tried to put one in a light truck. That would make for an interesting swap if someone tried it.

    7.3 Powerstroke swap

If I were to go the Navistar route for a swap, I'd go for a DT360, a 6.9 IDI or a 7.3 IDI, since they're all mechanically injected and electronically straight forward. The DT360 is an underated powerhouse rivaled only by a 6BT Cummins. The IDI engines are weak in stock form, but can toyed with...

Need a inline fuel pump for Carbed 350, what brand/ part?

Dang, I may have to get one of those check valves. My K1500 has drain back issues sometimes.

    AC Cover

They're not that fragile, just be careful. If you do manage to break it, JB weld and black paint are your best friends.

Need a inline fuel pump for Carbed 350, what brand/ part?

Tis the nature of internet discussion, sadly. Even with squabble like this thread, this website is still more civil than a lot of other places on the interwebs.

Need a inline fuel pump for Carbed 350, what brand/ part?

This thread went off the rails quick lol. In regards to the OP's original question. There are many quality electric pumps, however I don't think any of them offer enough of an advantage over an OE style mechanical unit, unless you have a really thirsty carburetor or plan on doing a TBI...

Need a inline fuel pump for Carbed 350, what brand/ part?

A hack saw blade works too. They have enough flexibility to hold the little rod up and still slide out, after you get the bolts in.

How many times can wires flex?

You're lucky with that kind use.

How many times can wires flex?

The back doors on Dodge Ram Quad cabs and Mega cab trucks like to eat wires too. I once tore down a back door on a 2007 Ram 3500, and tested a bunch of electrical parts, only to find out that wires had broken inside of the boot coming from the cab. Finding out I tore down that door for nothing...

    Holy Grail of Squarebodys

Which Powerstroke? If it's the 6.0 or 6.4, Ford should take the opportunity to blame someone else for those turds. The 6.0 started off as a decent engine back when it was still exclusive to medium duty International trucks, but when Ford tried make some design tweaks for EPA compliance, things...

    4L60e vs 700r4

But can one be converted to electronic shift though? I know that a factory 700r4 has a long TV cable going all the way to the carb, but I was wondering if anyone tried to eliminate the TV cable entirely and retrofit some sort of electronic shifter to one.

    4L60e vs 700r4

Could a stand-alone digital shift unit be retrofitted to the 700r4? I've seen it done to 4L60e transmissions that are used in engine swaps where the factory pcm cant be used. There probably isn't much since in doing this since there are plenty of 4L60s and 4L80s in circulation to do this to.

What did you pay for a square

Sell those rallye wheels by themselves and you can probably get plenty of money for another set of wheels. In Texas you could put $8000 on that truck as it sits, and it would be gone in less than a week.

What's the going price on a good 305 engine these days ?

I've only seen one guy put effort into building a 305. He was a broke highschool kid that wanted an engine for his rougher GMT400. The irony is that he probably could've just got a junk yard TBI 350/5.7 That was actually made to work in the truck for a similar amount of money he had to spend to...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

The best "proper restoration" job I've seen was a 65 c10 on another forum. The level of detail was phenomenal, even on items that most wouldn't even think of or notice. This guy went as far as to copying the factory grease pencil marks, and using a punch to make the replacement rocker panels...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

The market for NOS parts is niche one. Since there's so few NOS parts lefts for these old trucks, especially degradable bits like dash pads, a premium is typically placed on them. There are quality reproductions, and junk reproductions as well. However some with deep pockets will pay stupid...

    Are pneumatic tools obselete?

I've actually used both the old and new style Dewalt Sawzalls. I can confirm that even with the adapter in place, the size and weight difference between them is marginal at best. I only abandoned the old one because I finally broke it. The new 20 volt lithium batteries with the adapter on top...

    Are pneumatic tools obselete?

The old lead acid batteries ranged from usable to absolute crap. Dewalt does actually sell a manufacturer approved adapter to adapt their old style tools to modern lithium battery packs. I was pleasantly surprised that they would even offer forward compatibility for any of their older offerings...

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

Electric vehicles in general seem to have the silliest caveats. GM once recommended you don't park a Chevrolet Volt too close to another vehicle in case of battery explosion, before they finally gave in and did a recall on them. Owners in certain areas are also ordered not to charge their cars...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

Not a square body, but just an idea of how stupid Facebook marketplace can be sometimes. A 12 valve is a desirable engine, but that desirability goes down when it doesn't run and is encased in a pile of crap.

    Are pneumatic tools obselete?

The various harbor freight brands tend to not be as powerful as the name brands, but after using them, I can confirm that times I've needed the extra power from the Milwaukee or Dewalt tools are practically non existent. My only gripe about my Harbor Freight Earthquake is that it lacks the...

    Are pneumatic tools obselete?

Ebay is full of these devices for various different manufacturers if you're like me and lack brand loyalty but also hate having a 100 different batteries to keep track of. I have a Dewalt hammer drill and Sawzall that I love but i only have 2 batteries for both of them and they're both getting...

    Are pneumatic tools obselete?

That's exactly why I've used to air ratchets in engine bays. In open spaces, battery tools will do most jobs as long as you use them within their limits. Too many people watch YouTube videos of compact impact drivers breaking lug nuts loose and think that these exaggerated torture tests are...

    Are pneumatic tools obselete?

Edit, that is in an impact driver, though it's too small for lug nut duty. I wouldn't use anything less than 1/2 in drive.
