    Heck, I'd pay $400.

If he brings that truck down south, he very well could double his money. I like how instead of just admitting that it has faded paint, he calls it "patina that is impossible to duplicate." The terms some of these sellers use to make meaningless things seem meaningful are hilarious.

    Any Green Squares?

Green seems more prevalent on the "round eye" (73-80) trucks than it does the post '81 "slope-nose" trucks. The only examples of green slope nose trucks I've been able to find is some '81s (this is also the only slope-nose year with a green interior) and a handful of Custom Deluxes with saddle...

What year front clip do you like best?

Someone actually took a real-life LTD wagon and made a clone of the movie car. It sold for 100k. https://www.hagerty.com/media/buying-and-selling/ltd-family-truckster-sells-for-100k/

    LMC Doors

In my experience, one of two things happens with aftermarket sheet metal scenario one: It's stout, but needs extensive reshaping to match. Scenario two: It fits perfectly, but dents it if you look at it wrong. I'm sure there's instances of people getting perfect body panels, but at the end of...

What year front clip do you like best?

Aftermarket companies are cranking out grilles for nearly every Chevy year and 85-87 GMC and grilles like there's no tomorrow, but still haven't made a correct 83-84 grille. Maybe one day we'll get lucky. Until then, I'll just keep piecing together junkyard grilles.

What year front clip do you like best?

You are a man of great taste and I wish you luck in your quest to find a solid 6 panel 83-84 grille. They are quite difficult to find these days. A guy once offered me a 91 Suburban radiator support and grille to put on my '85 C10, I told him that I typically do that conversion the other way...

Anyone Use Classic Industries Dash Pad

In my experience, the ones in the old dash have enough tension in them left to hold the new dash in place. It's easy to lose them during the removal process, if you're not careful though. A body shop was kind enough to help me out when I lost a clip, so I didn't have to wait for one to come in...

    GMT400 tank swap

I've never seen this done, but I have seem a few people install a 40 gallon square body Suburban tank onto a square body pickup. This would probably be easier to to do since the distance between frame rails of square pickup is closer to a square Suburban than it is a GMT400 pickup. It's also...

Anyone Use Classic Industries Dash Pad

I've heard mixed reviews about the quality of classic industries dash pads. I've ever used a LMC dash. The LMC dash I used worked and look good, but needed some trimming on the edges, and additional fitment work around the instrument bezel area.

6.0 LS to SM465 (mechanical clutch)/NP205 compatibility question.

I'm considering getting an early 2000s 6.0 LS to put into my '84 K1500 to replace the tired 305. Is there any sort of special components I should look at to make this engine works with the transmission and transfer case I listed in the title? Thanks.

Reputable Instagram parts sellers? Or known scammers?

I think most of these are legit, but use some degree of caution. If they refuse to talk on the phone (This is so they don't reveal their thick Indian accent.) or text in broken English, its almost always a scammer. If they specifically ask to be paid in crypto currency, I can almost guarantee...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

Oof I forgot about Midwest winters. From what I've seen, vehicles seem to survive the longest in most Southern states, except for coastal cities. The salt in the air seems to eat through both old and new vehicles around Bolivar and Corpus Christi. Dry places like Arizona and New Mexico seem to...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

A good rule of thumb is to avoid trucks from the northeast and the coast, unless they're incredibly cheap. This rule applies to new and old.

C50 to C10 dash and cluster interchangeable?

Most components should be the same on the dash. There are some c50 specific items like air pressure guages on air brake trucks, but most other guages should be the same or similar enough to work in a small truck with some minor modifications.

What did you pay for a square

The Oldsmobile diesel is hated by many, but also has a cult following. Like anything else, they can be polished and refined into something pretty nice if someone is committed enough.

Very nice. What kind of mpg do you get out of that Olds diesel?

    Rotted and warped bed

If you get a replacement bed, be mindful of things like fuel door type, fuel door location, and number of fuel doors. Any bed can be made work, but having the wrong fuel door setup will take more body work to correct, if you want the end result to look and function right.

    Rotted and warped bed

You can buy new sides or chop better sides out of a junk yard bed and graft them in with a mig welder. Any bed can be saved, it's just a matter of how much money and effort you wish to apply. In extreme cases, you're better off just buying a better bed and modifying it as needed to fit your truck.

The only time I've seen 2wd trucks used seriously off-road was when a tractor or bulldozer was present to pull them out.

You northwest folks are surrounded by these deals. A $6000 Craigslist square anywhere else in the country is either going to be a mix-master, or a rust bucket.
