Nice! That's one of my favorite colors. I'm a little biased though since I have an '85 Silverado with that same primary color. Those rallye wheels alone make that truck a steal for $1500.

    cheap-ish options for my 86

The truck should have a 305 in it, unless it was swapped at some point. I'd just run it as is, save money and find a 5.7 Vortec, and run a carbed intake on it, unless you wish to do a TBI conversion. A lot of people suggest an LS swap, those are great engines, but they won't drop in and bolt...

    Can we be honest people?

There's still plenty of metal behind in the dash, the plastic you see is just an outer layer. I think there is negative connotation with dashes that have exposed metal, in the sense that they look primitive and inherently unsafe. There's no reason the gmt400 and later trucks couldn't have had...

    Can we be honest people?

Using the Beretta name without the Italian gun company's permission got GM in some legal trouble. You think someone on the exec board would've recognized the name. Maybe they thought it was fair game since the Dodge Colt and AMC Marlin already existed prior.

It's really fun when they ask what the third pedal is for.

    Can we be honest people?

We like to pick on Ford here (often times for a good reason) but the HVAC systems on the 80-96 trucks were phenomenal in terms of easy maintenance. The heater core could be changed within 30 minutes, and the evaporator core within an hour. Now all of the manufacturers feel the need to bury the...

    Can we be honest people?

One of the most infuriating jobs I did was fixing the push button 4x4 system on a 2004 2500HD. after much trial and error, I narrowed the issue down to the control module tucked behind the dash. After installing the new module, it still wasn't fixed. I had a GM technician investigate. It turns...

    Can we be honest people?

On a slightly related note, it has always annoyed me how they didn't make the door hinges bigger or modify them to better sustain the weight of the door? The heavy square body doors eat through hinge bushings quick. The GMT400 trucks suffer from the same issue. It took GM decades to figure out...

Honestly, none correlate with me either. I keep my trucks mostly stock with minor performance and creature comfort ugrades. I am young enough to be the grandson of many members here lol. Like many other examples of research and study, the presence of a trend does not confirm the existence of a...

    Can we be honest people?

I have personally grew to hate the electronic 4wd systems found on GMT800s and others. There are too many things to go wrong, and they all do at some point. The dash switch or control module behind the dash can break and kill the system, the motor on the transfer case can break and get stuck in...

    Can we be honest people?

Whoever greenlighted the current abomination that bears the Blazer name needs to be banned from automotive design and marketing entirely. Also, the the cringe worthy T.V commercials with the "real people, not actors" need to stop. I am also heavily annoyed that they use the Chevrolet name to...

100 Square Bodies being auctioned off Sat June 25th Online.

There's a community in Japan that also seems to have taken a liking to squares. I've seen all sorts of clean specimens spotted over there.

To whomever participates, I highly recommend you remain sober during the entirety of the auction. After a few beers, nothing seems too expensive lol.

Question about R4 "Pancake" AC compressors

How would one go about adjusting a low pressure switch?

    Cheap one on Marketplace

I suppose I'm a little paranoid these days. I just get naturally suspicious when I see a decent looking 4x4 selling for less than 5k. If ad was genuine afterall, the seller just gave that thing away.

Question about R4 "Pancake" AC compressors

I am honestly starting to think they just declare the previous generation of refrigerant deadly to get it regulated out of existence and force the industry to invest in their latest "totally safe" refrigerant. 1234yf, seems to be the latest hotness, perhaps our EPA overlords are thinking of...

    Cheap one on Marketplace

I am fairly confident that is a fake ad with a stolen picture. The English used in the description seems kind of crude, and the price is suspiciously cheap. Facebook market place and Craigslist are cesspools for fraud and scam. If it is too good to be true, it almost always is.

2 barrel carb - barking up the wrong tree?

I would suggest either another Q Jet or an Edelbrock 1406. Finding a quality Q jet is difficult, but if you do find one, that is the most practical choice. The Edelbrock is a relatively inexpensive option that is easy to set up. All you need is a adapter plate for your existing intake. There are...

Question about R4 "Pancake" AC compressors

After a little bit of digging, it looks like a R4 to Sanden 508 conversion on a small block is pretty straight forward, since there are already conversion brackets available. What do ya'll reccomended for refrigerant line? Will I still be able to use an OEM style dryer can?

Question about R4 "Pancake" AC compressors

I want to try a Sanden unit, but I also don't want to go through the headache of bracket, belts, and refrigerant lines, I don't have to. If it isn't too much of a headache, I'll try it.

It's trendy for teenage girls these days to try to copy what teenage boys do their vehicles. I applaud your daughter for being smart enough to see past the silliness of rubber band tires.

Question about R4 "Pancake" AC compressors

My 84 K1500 has factory AC, but the old R4 compressor is pretty much dead and all the old R12 has leaked out. After some reading, it appears that there was an R134a version of the R4 built for GMT400 that were made after the R12 ban. Is one of these newer style compressors just a bolt on affair...

You can often guess a man's age by seeing the condition of his square body. Stock=age 40+ Tastefully built hot rod=age 40+ Slammed to the ground, with expensive air bag system= age 25-35 Lifted to the sky, with obnoxious paint color, gigantic shiny wheels with tires that rival the thickness...

    Leak in cab

Perhaps you could get a propane torch and apply it around the edges of the glass and try to soften the silicone underneath . Or you can just use a baseball bat, a shop vac, and an abrasive rotary tool to achieve a messy but fresh restart.
