    Which welder?

So a little back story... I am no virgin to welding, and certainly not complaining about " crying once ". I have not looked at the Lincoln, I was just a little suspicious of the auto set feature on the Miller, and am not needing anything bigger cause Hobart ac/dc stick will due the rest. I...

    Which welder?

So the heavy chevy needs rockers and cab corners. I have had zero luck finding a shop to do the work. The one quote I got was for 4k per side, site unseen! No thank U! I am looking at the hobart vs. miller 120v input mini migs. Miller seems to be more pricey, but specs look the same. The...

    Drink holder question?

Where is that picture of a beer in the work boot, riding shotgun? That works well for me. Easy install and no fabrication work. p.s. you may want a rear window slider to throw the empties into the bed. Eric

Scores from DIY Parts Yards, Pull A Part, U Pull It etc

So riding down the road today I spied a square on the back of a wrecker heading to the junk yard. I called the yard and told them not to crush it before I got there and the guy just laughed and said o.k. It looked a lot better going down the road at 60, but I got a oem tailgate with one dent...

black vinyl cover for off road light

The ones on the show were prolly KC covers that had been painted. Over here if the company does not pay the show money, the logo is blanked out. Any vinyl interior spray or die should do the trick. Eric

    Unwritten rules of mouldings?

I am late to the party, but was the white cab top a factory option or a repaint notion? I have seen a few 70's era furds lately with the white cab top and it is growing on me. Eric

Who's worked with lead vs bondo?

While I was a wayward apprentice at a body shop circa 1985, we had a guy that did lead work for the purest of the car resto guys. It is a true art form. I tried it, I sucked. I would suggest practicing on some holes not on your truck first. Also filing and sanding lead needs respirator...

    emissions help?

So my brain never received any of this information during " operation motor swap ". Oh well, I am now smarter. The mechanic went back through everything from the beginning. He cleared all of the codes and verified correct operation of all sensors. The glaring exception was the o2 sensor, he...
