Can anybody help ID this old cabinet ??

GOOD CATCH, thanks !! I don't know how I missed that. It is stamped: serial number 124882 And it appears there are letters painted black underneath, so obviously the exterior has been repainted once upon a time.

Can anybody help ID this old cabinet ??

I went outside just now and examined all sides very carefully, didn't see any sign of a label or tag, but there are a couple spots that do look like MAYBE a label had been affixed at one point in time. The mystery continues ............

Starter runs w/o solenoid in truck, not on ground

And the best part is, no space aliens were involved in the madness and mayhem.

Can anybody help ID this old cabinet ??

The red paint in the interior appears original and not faded because it seems the doors have not been opened to the elements for decades. It doesn't look like any distributor tuning machine cart that I have ever used, and I learned auto shop using those machines because electronic ignition...

Can anybody help ID this old cabinet ??

Thanks, I never thought about that possibility. And it sounds likely as Prescott has one of the original VA hospitals. I did a google picture search for both tune up parts and carburetor repair carts, and came up empty, nothing even close.

Can anybody help ID this old cabinet ??

When I got it, I was sure I would do something with it, but things have changed since then. I have been cleaning up my property getting rid of stuff I don't need, and don't want to leave the executor of my will with a huge mess to clean up. It'll be a heavy enough burden as it is.

Can anybody help ID this old cabinet ??

Me too, I have been wanting to get rid of it for a while now, but have been busy doing other things. @Big Chip If you would have driven the road to my place, it would be an experience you never forget and it's guaranteed to make you say words you would never say ordinarily.

Can anybody help ID this old cabinet ??

That does make sense. The bins are about the right size for carb kit packages, and way too big for points & condensers.

Can anybody help ID this old cabinet ??

Can't find any markings or stampings, and any labels are LONG gone. Three of the doors, and the drawer are lockable, maybe I should dig through my old key collection to see if I have any that work it. It was given to me by an old time friend a couple years ago when he was cleaning up his square...

Can anybody help ID this old cabinet ??

Could only do five pix in the thread, so here is pic #6. That restoration shop in Vegas I have seen on TV would probably charge a fortune to make it look new, but it would sure look great in somebody's garage.

Can anybody help ID this old cabinet ??

I suspect it's from an automotive repair shop, 1940's to 1950's vintage based on it's style and construction, and the small number of parts bins. I know there are at least two or three members here older than I am, and somebody might remember seeing one of these in the past. I think it's really...

What have you done to your square lately??

What have I done to my square lately ? Yesterday, I replaced a headlight, cleaned the battery and terminals, then today I washed the windshield and emptied the ash tray.

    Hello from Arizona

@idahovette EXACTLY. Was working in the shed two days ago and they misplaced a socket I was using and I had set it down on the bench.

    Hello from Arizona

Well, he is in the desert about 1250 ft elevation, I'm up north in the mountains at 5400 ft. Makes a huge difference in temperature.

How worried should I be about heat on the oil filter ?

I recently had a shop fabricate a dual exhaust on my c-20, everything seemed fine, until now. Had a short oil filter on the engine when he did the system. I changed the oil and filter yesterday, and the long filter is about an inch away from the headpipe that drops down from the manifold. Should...

Has anyone superglued the copper contacts down on the circuit board ?

I may have to buy a new circuit board for my 83 because the oil pressure gauge won't indicate. Everything else works and I know the sending unit is good.

    Hub question

One side warm and the other cool is definitely abnormal. I would disassemble both sides (one at a time) and do a very thorough examination for wear and binding/worn parts.

Am I crazy to expect more than 10 MPG

Keep in mind, the 350 engine was designed and built to be a serious small block workhorse, it wasn't designed with fuel mileage as a big concern. And, as cubic inches increase, so does fuel consumption.

    Noisy heater fan blower motor

Yes, there are owls and predators here, but they are lazy just like 99.99999 % of my neighbors and those who live in town. A garage would mean I never have to scrape ice off the windshield again, and I would have a climate controlled environment to work on my trucks, WITH a concrete slab and no...

    Noisy heater fan blower motor

Maybe I need to set more mousetraps and bar bait around the parking area. But, with my luck, it would crawl back into the truck, die, and stink up the cab.

    Noisy heater fan blower motor

I think it's safe to assume this was the cause of the noise when the fan was blowing. There HAS to be a way to keep them dang critters out of my trucks !!

Which one to pick, TH350 or TH400 ?

My biggest worry is the current transmission not holding up to the pull. Especially if I end up travelling with the weather to stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Got some long, steep highway hills to deal with.

Which one to pick, TH350 or TH400 ?

I don't know, it will depend on what is available IF and when the house sells and I have some money to work with. So much still up in the air right now. I hope whatever I do get can safely be towed with the hitch bolted to the bed. Drilling the frame and getting the right length spacers to fit...
