    Turn signal bulb replacement

We all have brain farts from time to time. As long as it all works out well in the end, all is good.

    Turn signal bulb replacement

Wasn't the original post about replacing a turn signal bulb, not a headlight ? I believe they are different.

Fuel in intake but not getting into cylinders

If I had the problem of fuel not making it into the cylinders on my truck engine, I would expect to find either a bird or packrat nest built in there blocking the flow. My home is ground zero for weird things to happen.

    Frame Rivet Replacement

At least it won't include clutch start switches, gearshift lockouts, or guardrails.

Zinc, Engine oil and flat cams

If you live in a hot climate like I do, and one of my trucks is low oil pressure, 20w50 is the cat's meow. I'm lucky to get 40 psi fully warmed up and at highway speed. Idles at 15 or less. If I was running anything less than 20w50 those numbers would be lower.

    Clutch safety switch delete

Why do I get the feeling this trip up a mountain road is going to be a long one ?? But, that said, knowing how many screwballs we have on the site, nothing surprises me any more.

    Clutch safety switch delete

Is that a paved or unpaved mountain road ??? And how many twists and turns ?? Hopefully there is a good strong guardrail for SAFETY.

    Clutch safety switch delete

We could also discuss the inconvenience of the shifter interlock that prevents taking an auto trans shifter out of park in order to put it in gear until one puts their foot on the brake ....

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

I had an old man neighbor (he passed away a few years back, rest his soul) and whenever I would make a trip to the big city to shop and have a good sit down meal at a restaurant, he almost always rode along. That was a high point in life he really enjoyed. He was a long term die hard Ford fan...

How slow is your daily driver?

I won't push either of my squares hard enough to find out how fast they are, but I do know they both laugh at the hopped up turbo diesel pickups that are driven by mentally off people who think they have the fastest thing on the road when the light turns green and leave huge clouds of black...

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

What oil company is going to print a label on the jug that says "may cause engine problems"?? You know that THEY knew about it all along and kept making/selling their crap. It's a shame more car/truck owners weren't warned in time to make a different choice about lubricants. I am lucky I had...

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

I have not used any Pennsylvania crude based oil in any of my vehicles since I learned what caused those deposits in the engines I had to work on. And yet, many folks have sworn by Pennzoil religiously. Maybe they got away with running it by always running the engine full operating temp every...

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

Expect to see a LOT more of that with the current trend of "eco boost" type engines, and across the board from ALL car/truck makers.

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

I'm still working my way through the thread, so it may have been mentioned, but Pennzoil and Quakerstate (among some other brands) are Pennsylvania crude oil origin, high Parrafin content, that's what caused those deposits. Gulf oil (from Texas and the Gulf of Mexico) are Sulfur based and the...

    spark plugs.... Over thinking!

Don't feel bad, guys ............ anything that would normally take a person to do that should be a 15 or 20 minutes job can easily take several weeks in my world. An hour long job, change that to months to get done.

"Y" exhaust pipe interchangeable between 4wd and 2wd?

I wish there was an affordable dual exhaust kit WITHOUT CAT for my 84 K-10 stock height.

    Valve adjustment question

@CRM Do you have a crankshaft bolt in the harmonic balancer? If you have the valve cover off to adjust the valves, remove the spark plugs to eliminate resistance, and put a breaker bar and socket on the harmonic balancer bolt, rotate clockwise as you face the engine. Watch the valves open and...

    Transfer case support rod

No, I haven't installed it yet. But, I could crawl under the truck tomorrow and hold it in place to verify a fit and measure the length. Meanwhile, the truck sits and does not get driven anywhere. I am waiting for a good time to yank the engine out so I can remove the broken bolt that holds the...

really need the experts on this, runs beautiful won't move

It's been decades since I had to replace clutch parts, but now I am remembering that they had a short and a long throwout bearing, and they were not interchangeable for function. Didn't know they had a third style.

really need the experts on this, runs beautiful won't move

How does the pedal feel? With everything installed correctly and adjusted, you should have about an inch of toe play, then feel resistance in the pedal as it takes up the slack to the pressure plate. The pedal should not go all the way to the floor real easily. You should feel some resistance...

What have you done to your square lately??

I washed my truck, it gets done once a year whether or not it needs it. Living off grid and having to haul my water, it's a real treat to have a clean truck. Shame it won't stay that way for long with these dusty "roads".

    Weird Fuel Gauge Issue

I'm curious too, my truck does the same thing and it drives me nuts.

    steering box bolts

On my 84 K-10 the steering box sits against the frame, the bolts go through, and the nuts are at the end of the spacers. Never could figure out why they did it that way.

Before you string me up ..

I wish I could make my 84 K-10 ride that smooth. Since I have trouble getting in and out of my trucks, they need to remain at stock height. That truck rides so rough, I can drive over a dime in the road and tell if it's heads or tails up.
