Fuseblock failure - What can go bad to cause it?

I remember when it failed, was at night and I saw a bright flash of light under the dash and heard a LOUD electrical "snap" then all went dark. Turned around went back in the driveway and fired up the other truck to complete my mission. Today, I finally finished playing musical wiring harnesses...

    Want double water pump pulley

I don't go to Phoenix, especially after I lived there for a few years. I am strictly a small town person now. It's a 3 hour drive each way for me plus the weather is too hot for me.

    Smallblock questions,,,,,,,,

I am running 882 heads on my 383 stroker, 8.7 compression, and a mild cam. It has worked out perfectly for well over 100,000 HARD use miles ... A lot of guys don't care for the 882's, but if you run the heavy ones with thicker castings and don't overheat them, you;ll be fine. The thinner casting...

Here's from my factory 84 shop manual, I believe it's the same for 82 and 83, and may apply for earlier models.

    Hello to all

Blame it on the space aliens, they mess with me here all the time. One of the mods can move it for you as soon as they see it, or you can message them and ask. They are the ones with green names in the who's here list.

    Hello to all

Welcome from northern Arizona ........... You will find the kids on this forum to be a great bunch, they will help you solve any issues you have to contend with, the knowledge base is incredible. List of light bulbs by number & application ?

Thanks, my truck is an 82 made for 83 model year. My 84 shop manual calls for 1004, and your 85 manual shows the cylinder shaped bulb, so 85 seems to be the year they redesigned the dome lamp socket.

List of light bulbs by number & application ?

I was sure my factory shop manual had a list of bulbs used in the trucks and had the bulb numbers and applications, but now I cannot find that page. I need to get the number for the interior dome lamp, it's a two terminal base like the 1157 taillight bulbs, but it's a single filament and the...

Is this supposed to be a ground wire ?

Well, I will inspect it closer, if it has dust inside, it was never connected to anything. If it's shiny, it plugged in somewhere. If I leave it unplugged and everything still works properly, I won't worry much. CrazyArk just looked at his 86 and it should be a ground if GM used the same wire...

Is this supposed to be a ground wire ?

Replacing the under dash harness and fuseblock finally. The wires coming from the fuel tank selector switch are pink (goes to fuse block for power obviously) and a pink w/ black tracer with a connector on the end. This is my OEM existing harness in the pic. Is the connector supposed to go to a...

    Want double water pump pulley

It looks like we need two pulleys to fix Ark's truck properly. The water pump double pulley should be 5 and a half inches to 5 and 5/8" diameter, and his crank pulley somehow ended up getting damaged between the machine shop and home and does not run true, and we need a triple pulley for the...

Keep Frying HEI Coils PLEASE HELP!

I can't see how it could be getting too much voltage unless the alternator is kicking out way too much power or you have a bad or missing ground somewhere. .. and those coils are designed to run on 12.6 volts plus or minus a bit, as compared to the old school points coils that start on 12 volts...

    Door switch replacement question

I want to replace the door switches on both my trucks, 83 C20 and 84 K10 I went to remove the door switches today so I can order the correct new ones, not sure if they are one or two wire switches. I started to remove the switches, and there's a lot of resistance to unthread until after I have...

Glad to hear that !! You are very welcome for the help and advice. I bet your gas mileage will get better now, too .....
