Lots of members coming out of the woodwork now reporting the attempted scam. I'm glad it was caught in time and nobody fell victim.

Thanks for handling that animal, it's a shame it's illegal to hunt down scammers and shoot them in the head.

    Wire colors and locations ??

And as for watching the gauges all the time, it's just part of driving. I am one of those rare few drivers who constantly glance at the gauges to make sure nothing is awry, I listen for any sounds, either normal or unusual, and I am aware of everything going on around me, from what's behind me...

    Wire colors and locations ??

I put a "T" between the sender and the engine block. Got a pressure switch from NAPA and as long as the engine has oil pressure, it passes voltage to the electric fuel pump. It runs through a SPDT center off toggle switch hidden under the dash. I can select fuel when oil pressure is present...

    Wire colors and locations ??

Thank you, I did manage to get what was supposed to be the diagram for the 82/83 and found a yellow wire to the gang plug and that color wire didn't show up on the diagram. So, this truck is turning into an interesting challenge. Several wire colors and locations did not match the supposed 82/83...

AuroraGirl is buying another square... is it a good one?

No engine, transmission and no steering column, plus the rust, that is a two hundred dollar truck at the most, including delivery.

    Starter Questions

Agreed, I got a reman starter from autozone, it started the truck ONE TIME then it failed and would not function again. It would help if people doing the work put pride in what they did and the corporate world was a bit less greedy for profits. But don't get me started on that topic.

Best place to buy dash PC board & door switches??

I need to replace the PC board for my 82/83 instrument/gauge panel because all the used ones I have on hand keep screwing up due to age and number of times the connector has been inserted and/or removed. Also need to replace two door jamb switches. I need the lowest price and fastest,cheapest...

Changed circuit board, the duel fuel gauge still 1/4 full when full

I think it's time to test the sending units in the tanks and make sure the connections (especially grounds) are clean and tight. With the key ON, unplug a sender wire at the tank and ground it, the gauge should go to full. Repeat for the other tank. The sending units control voltage to ground...

    Wire colors and locations ??

After installing the donor wiring harness, I find the temperature gauge doesn't work, and the oil pressure gauge isn't indicating despite a new sending unit. And the dome light refuses to light despite grounding the terminal that plugs into the door switch or twisting the headlight switch. I...

1st Annual N. Texas Square Body Forum Truck Rally

As much fun as it would be to actually meet some of you kids and clowns, there's no way I could finance a trip there ........ And then there are the times I just don't feel sociable and stay in my own little world.

Need help - replacing spotlight in driver's pillar

MANY,MANY thanks !!! I will check everything tomorrow after the sun rises and it warms up enough to hobble outdoors. We're having a cold spell for a couple days here. But it sure beats running the big generator so we can have the cooler run all day.

Need help - replacing spotlight in driver's pillar

I slid the new light in to check the fit, and the handle hits the dashpad........... maybe I needed one yet another 4 inches longer. Or, do some bodywork and drill another hole in a higher location.

Need help - replacing spotlight in driver's pillar

Shakey, As long as game & pfish department don't see me using it at night I'm okay. According to AZ game laws, they can write me a citation for spotlighting game illegally if the light is used at night, even if I'm not spotlighting game. And the space aliens just messed with me and caused me to...

Need help - replacing spotlight in driver's pillar

One way or another, I WILL make the new one work. The old one was too short on the shaft sticking inside the cab and the handle would hit the dash pad limiting its rotation. The new light is about 4 inches longer and should clear the dash nicely.

Need help - replacing spotlight in driver's pillar

Got it off, found a spot for better leverage, WD-40 and twist and PULL and I got it off. Now, I got some body work and repainting to do because whoever installed the light bungled the hole and I need to re-drill the screw holes for the new light. I don't want another ugly truck, I already have...

Need help - replacing spotlight in driver's pillar

I found a video on youtube (for installing a light) that showed the handle sliding off, said nothing about removing the wedge bolt at that point. Maybe I just need to pull like mad and use some WD-40 on it ??

Need help - replacing spotlight in driver's pillar

I assume I need to get the pinch bolt out on the handle so I can slide the shaft out, but there's no screw head on the bolt and tapping on the bolt threads on the other side doesn't seem to want to make it budge. I don't want to screw anything up. Do I simply need to use more force on the bolt...

    Removing Front Brake Dust Shields

I have done mine several times on my K-10 for various repairs and/or maintenance. They are a piece of cake if you don't live in a damn rust belt. And sure, they are made of sturdy steel, but they ain't heavy.
