    Is this a correct bracket?

Who are you talking to? The bracket on the pump in the first post... or the one in the illustration?

    Is this a correct bracket?

Your illustration is from '78? It looks like the old pump is correct and the new one is not... and that the proper mounting bracket should be three pieces. One on the exhaust manifold, one on the left side that attaches to that piece and has the adjustment, and one that attaches to the water...

    Is this a correct bracket?

I'm not changing reservoirs. I have no idea whether the leak was from the old pump, the old reservoir, or from a seal or bad surface... and it voids any warranty. Besides, I want to be sure I'm using the correct bracket. But thanks for the idea.

    Is this a correct bracket?

My 1978 3/4 ton 4X4 Camper Special chassis needs a power steering pump and I've ordered two... both not what I have on the truck. One of the new pumps has a return line configured so that it is pointed at the vibration damper, requiring a very tight 180 degree turn in the line, and the other new...

    Cheap chit parts….

Yup... and yet there are places you can buy the same unit for less than 25 bucks... landed, distributed, and retailed. It's not just a middleman or two making the same cap and rotor twice as much to the customer. And when I say "less than" $5/$1 I am fully expecting pennies on both. Would not...

    Cheap chit parts….

For the life of me I can't figure out why American manufacturers aren't beginning to give China some competition. I went into NAPA today for a cap and rotor and the cheapest ones were $45. I know for a fact that they are made in China (or where ever) for less than five dollars and shipped for...

About to ruin one of the nicest C3500's with an Ls.. Pictures

I w I was working at a GM dealership when the LS engines made the scene, and the body styles changed. No mechanic at the time thought they would be better than the preceding engine models and they laughed about how the trucks were cheap and plastic, and would likely fall apart. How the times...

Spark, Fuel, Crank but won't start

Just because there is fuel to the carb, it does not mean the fuel is being put through the carb properly. Sitting that long may have resulted in gumming up the jets or any number of other issues.

    Double Dingo's 1991 Jeep Cherokee

Best vehicle I've ever owned. I've had two that I took to 200K plus and if Jeep ever made a brand new 2000/01 I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

    Saddle tank delete with carburation

I'm doing a body swap using a '78 Chevy chassis including complete power train, and a '58 M37 military truck. I saw some saddle tank delete threads but nothing on earlier trucks. Mine is a 1978 K20 Camper Special and the fuel tanks have got to go. I've seen that later trucks are using a 31...

    Advice please

Resurrecting an old thread, so how about an update? Did you ever get the K5 home? As for which one to keep, do you need something with a bed? To me, that's the first question to ask.
