    you're already into it but 3M has a 1,2,3 sanding using scotch brite pads! I still have found regular sand paper to get the smoothness I'm looking for but they are handy at the end. National tool wharehouse. I have found the 7747 the equivalent of 180 grit sand paper, but smoother! So I have...

    Here's the other side of the hood, 3 coats of chassis black on top of 3 coats of primer. If I can do that I think I'm ready for color and clear! This side is all taped off so I can finish the other side.

    I hear you, I got a ridiculous quote from a local custom shop for paint. Decided since being retired I can research this and learn something new!     Looks good, you must have a good heater! I have to wait for warmer weather again it was 25 degrees this morning and my heaters can't warm up the barn enough!

    Still priming the top of the hood, but the weather is going to turn colder, here's the end of the day DTM high build primer coat #2. One more coat then sealer. Can't believe this weather we need a ton of rain!

    Any of the online stores will have what you need and even napa or autozone. I would find it online using there search engines and then see if I could get it local.

    That was the guidance provided from the manufacturer. And I tend to read the instructions, I didn't engineer them!

    New brackets don't come with the weld nuts on them. I had to drill one hole I believe on the front bracket for the drivers side tank. My truck had the primary tank on the passenger side only.

    Do you need the frame bracket or just the straps? I have an extra set of straps if you want them. pm me and I'll send them to you they will just collect dust in my barn.

    I would have a friend or your dad start it and move the steering back and forth and look for stuff moving that should be stationary. With the truck on the ground.

    Yes this is common! There is another thread about changing leaf springs that probably has the same problem. This is the 2nd truck I have fix'ed.
