    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

.60 over 350. running this combo for 21/2 years now. I didn't put the 160 in for the trans specifically. one of the best running small blocks i've ever had. Tell me why you think this is too cold even though i have no intention of changing it.

To Cut Or Not To Cut

Seems to me that you are trying to put something round into something that was meant to be square. I don't see the advantage but that's just me.

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

I bought an aluminum rad from Rock auto for my '81 c10 360/700r4. was amazed by the low price. i run a 160 stat and the truck never wavers off of 170 degrees. Gotta believe that cooler temp is good for the trans. I'd shelve that rad and replace it, less than $150 if i remember correctly

    1977 c10 worth one owner 63k miles

just for reference, i recently bought an '83 k10 short fleet diesel, running, driving, new tires, shocks, trans rebuilt, springs, brakes, seat not damaged with rusty wheel wells and rockers. 67k miles for $5,ooo. did i mention it has a working Meyer power angle plow?!. i personally think that 2wd...

    Engine lunched itself...need advise

i don't know what your budget is but that 305 has little value. i bet you can find a good running 350 on craigslist for $1,000 or less.easy peasy.

i was in your same situation. i bought the miller 140 auto set and taught myself to weld. it can be done. quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten. you wont lose money on a quality tool.

how much of that heat is coming from the exhaust?? dynamat the floor and maybe heat shields on the exhaust. so much techlology since your truck was built!!

How much HP and Torque for Daily Driver

i know it's like a broken record on my part, but from my experience a 400sbc with an rv type cam ,intake and long tube hedders can't be beat for low end grunt and daily driving. don't expect HP beyond 4,500rpm. this setup is especially suited for heavier 4x4"s with the low cost of a smallblock...

Just wondering if anyone has ordered a wood bed kit for their Stepside ?

i did the bed wood on my '81 myself. it takes a bit of precision to get it right. used Bruce Horkey on my '69. he has been doing it for a long time and will get it right the first time but might not be the cheapest.

    cam change

Stepside Fender to Bed Seam Sealant

I would pre paint the contact area and then assemble it for painting. You could mask the edge of the seam sealed area before assembly and swipe it with your finger or use a tool to smooth it out. Then just pull off the tape and you should have a nice clean joint

    Crazy question

Cut the bolts off of the bed, slide it back and replace the panel. about $300 total with new hardware. Not a big job. One person if you have an engine crane. I agree with the rodent pee speculation for the rust out. Foam and bondo won't last long. My father always said "If you're going to do a...

    TH350 to 700R4 Swap

I have that 350/700 setup in my '81 with 3.90 gears and i consider it a very comfortable setup. Taller gears are going to struggle in lockup, particularly with a smaller(305) engine IMHO

Another cam thread... But maybe not the usual.

You don't need big heads for a low rpm torque motor. Find a 400sbc and rebuild it with an rv cam, long tube hedders and a performance intake. Top it off with a qjet and you will have a reliable torque monster without having to step up to a big block. I have this setup in my '72 k5 and it is very...
