What's the going price on a good 305 engine these days ?
Good info folks. I appreciate the feedback. I know it's not the "desirable" engine, but for what they were intended, they did pretty good. During that period of time, everyone was anal about pollution so they loaded up the engines with as much crap as possible. Gonna check with my sprint car...- PeteJr

Saw this, but have not checked it out. Page 225 lists an '83 - '84 grille........... https://www.certifit.com/images/catalogs/catalog.pdf Not familiar with Certifit parts, but they have a warehouse in Memphis. A buddy bought a rear bumper there and it looks good to me.- PeteJr

Importance of charcoal (Evap) canister
Sooooooo ....... If I do the above recommendation, can I use a 2 port sending unit instead of a 3 port one like my OEM set-up? I'm fixin' to buy a SU for my new gas tank and if I don't need the canister and extra port, why buy it. Can I just use the 2 port version?- PeteJr

More work on the "Can of Worms" project. Bed off, cleaned & pressure washed frame. Pulled axles out. Will paint frame, replace rear wheel cylinders, brake lines, broken wheel stud, axle bearings/seals, leaf springs, bushings, gas inlet hose/vent hose and what ever else needs fixin'. (Yes... -

Thanks for the input guys, don't mean to open up an old can of worms here. In my area, machine shops are either............ Not no, but HELL no or non existent. I've researched it a good bit and selling it and buying a "better" crate engine is looking better.- PeteJr

Target Master worth performance parts?
Not meaning to detract from this topic............... But ! I have a GM 350 crate engine # 12568758 still in the box) that is a TBI replacement for '87ish to '96ish trucks. It's a center bolt valve cover, no Vortec, no manual fuel pump provision & 1 pc rear main seal. Is it doable for the above...- PeteJr

Was a good show yesterday. Lots of trucks (1,750), good, bad and ugly ones. Had to dodge some rain, but good time. Lots of vendors, food and fun.
