    Radio light bulb change, 2700 AM/FM stereo/cassette

I am redoing the interior of my truck and since I have most of it out, I wanted to replace the light bulbs for the radio as well. (My truck is a 1983 GMC Sierra Classic 2WD/305 engine) Taking the radio out wasn't impossible, but "interesting." Two 5/8" nuts behind the knobs, a strap brace on...

What have you done to your square lately??

Redesigned brackets and mounted the new dash speakers so they would clear the pad. Painted the pointers all the same color on the old and new gauges. STILL....... waiting on the new printed circuit to show up so I can get the cluster conversion done.

    Brake Shoe size ?

When I was trying to figure out the same thing on my '83 GMC Sierra Classic 2WD.......... It seems the 2" are for 2wd & wider shoes were for the 3/4 ton or HD.

2021 Bonneville Salt Flats Sept 10-13

Several of the car club guys from here have gone to B-ville with George over the years. Maybe I'll get there one day ! George ran 466+ MPH yesterday. Car has a 7 speed Liberty transmission. This was last year, when he ran 481 mph. The fastest ever for a wheel driven, piston car.

2021 Bonneville Salt Flats Sept 10-13

My buddy from here, George Poteet, had a fire in the Speed Demon on Monday. "ONLY" ran 388 MPH at the 1st mile, then pulled off.......... They are hoping to break 500 MPH at this event. George is 70ish years old and has gone faster than 400 MPH at least 50 times.

What have you done to your square lately??

Gutted the dash area, started to replace the big fuel gauge with the new tach. Install small fuel gauge where the clock was. (Until I discovered that I received the wrong printed circuit) Cleaned & painted some more interior trim pieces. Sweated a lot..........

    Heater core

I just bought one at NAPA for my '83 GMC, with air. Looks to be the correct one and size. They had to order it from their warehouse across town, same day delivery.

I know it doesn't look like much, but I got one of my vent windows "re-rubbered" & new latch installed. A good challenge for a couple hours in 100 degree temp today.

Your new grill looks great. Is it black or dark gray in the middle? I'm OK with mine for now, gotta fix the missing piece under the "M". But yes, harder to find the '83 - '84 ones.

Oh, Man ! That looks awesome. Great job on it. I gotta ask, did you paint the plastic trim? If so, what paint did you use? It matches really well. I tried the Dupli-Color "med blue" and it's a little lighter. Definitely inspirational !! Thanks for sharing.
