    Brake issue

    That blue spring that holds the adj. and shoes together at bottom,, I always put the coils of the spring over the star part of the adj. In you pic there dosen't look to be any part of the spring to keep the Adj from move tighter or loser. But i think if it was moving it would lock up the wheel...

    Clutch issues

    I don't remember the size, been 40 years since I had a clutch. I would stay away from all thread it's kinda soft stuff. Adj till You have 1" or 1and a half of free play. if You adj it closer to the floor then You will still have the pedal not coming up to top stop.

    If You look under the dash above the clutch pedal You will see a big spring.m That spring is to help Your leg push down the clutch pedal.. BUT,, it will also hold the pedal down 2 " if You have too much free play. THE SPRING doesn't have any presser from the clutch to return pedal to top stop...

    steering box adjustment

    A 20 year old use steering gearbox Can not be adj. very well cause most of the wear is on the teeth that are used going down a straight road with little wear when turning left or right. what I'm trying to say is most all the wear is only on a small part of the gear.

    Could very well be a bad ground by the sounds of that, If it is still working ok I would run it for a week or so,, You may of just fixed something with the hammer also.
