    Cab light question

Any way to find the thread size on the bolts that hold the cover to the housing on these Deitz lights? I went to put the covers back on and they weren't screwing in. I looked and all the bolts are stripped at the end. Whenever they were put on, wrong size bolts must have been forced in and...

    Cab light question

I texted the guy who painted my truck a while back and he did say they had the light housing off the cab when they painted them and they did not just tape them off. I am guessing they are not grounded. I just need some free time now, kids, work, coaching, etc....

    Cab light question

And no I haven't gotten them fixed. Basically haven't had time to go to the neighbors house who is going to help me figure it out. Electrical is just not my thing.

Best Spent $$ for Square Restoration

I've learned during my research that a lot of the aftermarket parts are either exactly the same, or almost the same no matter where you buy them from. There are only a couple places actually manufacturing these items and lots of places selling them. For example, a big majority of the places...

    Cab light question

Thanks, the housing and placement of mine to not look the same as yours. Seems like a lot of work to mount marker lights like that with the wiring run the way it is. Is it an add on you guys see very often? If someone had just dropped the headliner and wired it that way I could see, but...

    Cab light question

I haven’t had time to mess with the lights yet. Curious though, are you saying they are not stick based on the light itself or the location. Just curious if I am likely dealing with factory wiring and aftermarket assemblies or if you can tell based on the location that the wiring and lights are...

    LMC Parts

I've bought quite a bit of stuff for my square over the yeas. It seems to me that a majority of the stuff is either made by the same overseas company, or is of similar quality no matter where you buy it. So it comes down to cost, shipping, and customer service. Last year when I ordered my...

What plans do you have for your trucks

The times I do drive my truck my wife always asks why I am driving it. I almost always have to put at least 20.00 in it no matter where I go.

    73-80 LMC Dash Pad

I just bought a a dash from truck parts a month ago for my 86 4x4. It was 350.00 plus 80.00 shipping to Indiana. 430 total to my door....It was frustrating when I saw the price compared to their online catalogue, but overall I was pleased with my purchase from them. Sounds like I might have...

What plans do you have for your trucks

I am envious of you guys who daily drive your square. Mine is 3/4 ton that used to belong to a logger and it is geared very low (can't remember if its 4.56 or possibly lower) all I know is at 55 MPH it is cranking the RPM's. It gets about 8 mpg's, so as much as I'd love to I can't afford to...

    Aftermarket Billet grills

I went with a tube style just so I could paint it, almost every thing on the exterior of my 86 is satin black. I figured if I’d tried to paint an OEM grill it would go bad before the rest of the truck. I ordered mine off EBay 10 years ago or more and it’s held up fine.

Where did you order your carpet from?

I am happy with it. From what I learned most places selling carpet sell ACC brand carpet. So I would shop around. When I bought mine Rock Auto was the cheapest I found, but you might find someone selling it them cheaper.

    Any Green Squares?

Wish I had a pic but one of my best friends has a 76 short bed 4 WD, I am lot sure what the name of the color is but is almost a sea foam green. Truck is a head Turner that he has owned since it was new

Anyone Use Classic Industries Dash Pad

I got my cover from Truck and Car parts in California. Was cheaper than LMC. I ordered the new clips from them but they only sent 4 and one of them was broken. So I ended up using some from my old dash. There was no issues removing the OEM ones and using them on the new dash. Overall I am...

    Cab light question

Thanks good to know. I've had the truck for almost 20 years, and based on the guy I bought it from I just assumed they were stock. I've got some friends that are electricians, I'll let them take a look.

I guess I described it wrong. I was just saying the one closest to the passenger door, not above it so to speak. As far as I know they are stock lights in the stock configuration.

    Cab light question

I just replaced my headliner last month and if I remember the wiring goes up to the pillar and into the cavity in the roof gap. Is there even a way to physically check the wiring? Also the wiring went up the driver side, I assume if they were in series wouldn’t it start on that side and go to...

    Cab light question

Must first say I know zero about electrical, I just don't get it. Anyway last year I had my truck painted. I noticed last night only one of the cab lights was working so I assumed the bulbs were bad as they are pretty old. I pulled the covers off today and the bulbs looked good so I swapped a...

Where did you order your carpet from?

Mine fit just fine. At first I was a little concerned but in the time it took me to trim the front and back edge it had started to lay better. I had it in my barn and had the wood stove cranking and had it about 75 degrees in there as it was below freezing outside. Not sure if it helped or...

    Let’s talk about headliners

I don't think there is any difference. As long as you have (or buy) the interior trim kit you should be good to go. The interior trim and the two brackets for the visors are what holds the headliner up. I am certain every cab made is the same (headliner v non headliner models". Just buy the...
