Fixing a jimmy rigged electrical system

I'm with you. I like using the bare high temp connectors with heat shrink myself. Definitely makes for a cleaner, smaller connection!

What have you done to your square lately??

I believe the Warlock was a 4x4, Lil' Red was 2x4...Nope, just read the Warlock was either.

    1986 Upper Pinstripe Location?

Looks great, Grit! I'm a bit of a purist, so as close to stock as possibly imho....WHATEVER that might be! Haha. Although my paint is a bit haggard, it retains the factory scheme for 1987 anyway.

Rear bumper difference 73-80 vs 81–

Crawl under your truck & snap some pictures of the brackets how it mounts to the frame & bumper itself. Look to see if there are visible bumper bolts toward the corner of the bumper, or if they are concealed. It's possible the other owner drilled different holes in your frame also. Google &...

Rear bumper difference 73-80 vs 81–

I believe the only difference is whether the bumper has corner supports, or the type that are in line with the frame. If I'm not mistaken, both types bolt to the outer side of the frame. The bolt patterns on the frame might be different, but one can always drill new holes either in the brackets...

What have you done to your square lately??

Installed stainless bed caps, IMPOSSIBLE to find them w/stake holes! Also took the Meguire's Paint Cleaner wax to the black on the back of the cab, the upper doors & box sides including tailgate. That stuff is AMAZING if any of you have never tried it. Amazing what it does to old, faded paint...

What have you done to your square lately??

I have close to 2 sets of 6 lug GM's. I'm running all 8 lug stuff anymore, except for my '64 C-10. Shipping to Kentucky will be expensive though.

    BFGoodrich or Cooper?

My exact choices also! I've literally owned thousands of dollars of Cooper tires on multiple vehicles over the past 30 years, and I've turned one in for a road hazard warranty. Most of their line is US made also. I've always thought BFG's were over-priced & over rated. Jmho...Ford/Chevy...

Which one to pick, TH350 or TH400 ?

My experience is that a TH400 is far better for heavier duty job's. I've seen too many 4x4 'Burb's, Blazers & truck's go through TH350's when working them hard in 4x4 mode, or towing. Look at it this way...Chevy put 292's in a lot of their trucks, but the 350 outperformed them MOST of the time...

    LMC Headliner question

I did the same, came out great. I did over cut the fabric a bit on the passenger side visor hole, but the headliner trim covers it up.

    LMC Headliner question

Save some hassle, just take some sharp tin snips and enlarge the triangles, making sure the visor bases still cover.

    '87 V1500 2" Lift Advice

The Tuff Country 2" Add-A-Leaf front springs I just installed on my V20 fall short of riding up onto the factory keepers at the rear of springs. I added Pro Comp leaf clamps at the front to keep the 3 pack together, works very good.

1987 Chevrolet V20 front leaf spring replacement

I just adjusted my '87 V20, and I turned my adjuster sleeve COUNTER-CLOCKWISE to get the steering wheel to go to the right, so you'd have to rotate your sleeve CLOCK-WISE to get the wheel to go to the left. Mine was about at the "10:30" position when wheels were straight, I ended up turning...

    Beautiful Beast ! For sale

Beautiful truck, crazy pricing these days. I just saw a very nice '76 k20 go for $32,500 on a Proxy Bid Auction. The market is insane anymore! Love the Montana mud flaps, seen thousands of those growing up here since the early 70's.

Very tempted! Beautiful 77 Suburban 454 2wd for sale!

Cool 'ole rig! I thought those wheel covers first debuted in 1979???? Can someone confirm or correct me on that?

What have you done to your square lately??

Rebuilt TB, ground off casting ridges on top of tb, installed 1/4" injector pod spacer, 14# fuel pressure spring, and Power Tower. Still waiting on that 40 hp increase...smh. It all made a difference but would be surprised if 5 hp on the dyno showed up, and I'm hoping MPG will improve. Changed...

Problems with lift kit (ORD) install...

Every lifted truck I've ever rode in had a choppy, harsh ride. My V20 has 3 leaves up front after I added a 2" lift spring, still less than half that thick. To each his own...

Problems with lift kit (ORD) install...

Totally looks like an Amateur Hour installation. My god, that think has to ride like a tank with all those leafs up front! I'd definitely be raising hell with those clowns, I think the local high school Auto Shop class would of done better. I don't think I would of left the shop if I saw this...
