    Grille Color

I had some Dupli Color Graphite metallic wheel paint that matched my dash bezel gauge holes almost perfect. It's a very light metallic but was definitely darker than Argent. That being said, I'm not sure if GM would have used that same color on the grille's or not but I think it'd look great on...

1977 Q-jet factory air cleaner housing and lid

I have a pretty private, small local guy who has a decent collection of Squares. I go there on a regular basis and will be going back when some of the snow goes away. I found another member here a really nice gauge cluster with a factory tach out of a '77 Blazer, so I'll check it. It may be a...

No, the TH350's in the HD 4x4 trucks & Suburban's. They're a great tranny otherwise, but there is a reason they made the tougher TH400. That's just my experience here in the mountains of Montana.

I'm not sure why GM chose to throw the TH350's at the HD trucks. I'm sure you won't be doing any serious off-roading or heavy-duty towing, but I've just seen too many TH350's fail in those bigger trucks. Hopefully it'll treat you right!

Nice truck! My uncle bought a '77 K20 new that had the SB 400. I wasn't overly impressed with it until I bought a '76 Monte with one stock. It was one of the best Chevy engines I ever owned! I've always liked the '79 & up boxes w/fuel access doors the best also. Nice work, she's gonna be...

    Dash/Stereo Progress and Wiring Question

Yes sir! I installed a Viper alarm in my '86 Monte SS AFTER my 1st stereo system was robbed. It went off after a second attempt a couple years later after they knocked out the trunk lock, but that was the only thing I had to replace/repair as they had to run off when the alarm sounded. Good...

    Dash/Stereo Progress and Wiring Question

Man, that dash looks awesome! Where did the charcoal dye come from? That's the color of my interior, but it is tough to find. I installed the black urethane dash into my truck but am not that pleased with it. I definitely wish I would of spent the extra $ on the vinyl one instead. Your whole...

    Need help deciding

Man, both are very cool! I'd go with the '87 just because of it's a bit more "updated" and has the TBI. That being said, I'd ditch those wheel covers & get you some '90's GM alloy's or different caps!

    Batteries

I'm also a huge AC/Delco fan as I've had them last 7+ years and over 200K miles on a remote start vehicle here in Montana where temp's can vary nearly 150 degrees from the heat of summer to the heart of the winter. My mother also got over 8 years out of her AC/Delco that came stock in her '06...

What have you done to your square lately??

Replaced my leaking power steering gear box a month or so ago with one my mechanic buddy had, only to realize it was an earlier version, '67-'80, with 18:1, 4 turn ratio w/flare fittings instead of o-ring. Anyway, I decided to replace the input shaft seal in my original one, and after getting...

    89-91 Dash Cluster Bezel

I'm still looking for you Benny! I've looked at a few but haven't given up on finding the din style. Winter has slowed my picking down but will be making trips back to that one yard.

    Where to buy seal

I just put an input shaft seal in my 208, got it from NAPA, so I'm sure they'd have the output seal.

Dual tank fuel gauge makes no sense.

My only problem is that when my right tank gets below 1/4 full, my truck will periodically die, like the pump loses pressure or prime. It'll immediately start back up, but it's kind of dangerous & annoying as I'm usually slowing down to turn or stop when it does this. I guess I may have to pull...

Dual tank fuel gauge makes no sense.

My truck does not have the rocker switch, and my fuel gauge reads correctly on each tank. I was merely informing JM of KY on the status of my '87 TBI set-up as I thought he suggested that the newer switches were the rocker-type, which mine isn't. My switch is the correct one that stays depressed...

Dual tank fuel gauge makes no sense.

My '87 TBI has the tank switch that stays on the selected tank, NOT the rocker style. I had to splice a factory plug onto my harness as the PO had it rigged with a toggle & about 8 wires. Anyway, the earlier 80's harnesses had a different plug that would only fit the rocker type fuel tank...

    1978 k10 radio patch panel

Did the same, only I made sure I patched within the bezel area, shot some black foo-foo over the white patch panel & it's perfect, can't even tell!

87 Stock TBI 350 air cleaner lid flip upside down? Does it help? does it hurt? good or bad idea?

I had a '76 Monte w/sb 400. It ran better with the fuel/air screws out about 5 turns AND air cleaner lid flipped over(more air intake)-FACT! Now, with tbi, I believe the stock set up is better because of the CAI, just makes sense...

    89-91 Dash Cluster Bezel

If you can wait a week, I'm going picking at a local yard & he has some later square's, so I'll look and get the best one. Do you have a max budget? He's reasonable on all his parts, so I'm expecting $25-$30 maybe??
