    Door Parts Interchangeability

The newer handle does bolt to the older door, and the screws/armrest bolts line up as well, so your only issue would be the fact that there are no plastic tits to secure the edges, so he could use some weatherstripping glue to do that, and nobody will be any the wiser. (As you can see, I got a...

Your choice, I'd use the '81.

    Door Parts Interchangeability

The doors are pretty interchangeable. The '75 door uses a different door panel, but you could fit a newer one over it with no problems (you just need to find a way to mount it). I'd change the regulator out since the crank might not reach (they are totally interchangeable). I used to have one...

What have you done to your square lately??

I finally got O'l Yeller running again after 2 weeks and buying another car to replace it. I need it again since the title on the Burb got signed wrong by the owner, and it might be up to 8 weeks before I can get it registered. The motor is so incredibly worn out that it leaves a smoke screen...

Am I Cursed by the Carburetor Gods? Or do I just suck with Carburetors?

SHE LIVES!!!. I stuck the new carb on, and it started right up and ran really good. I don't know for how long though. Here's where I welded the linkage pieces from one of the old monojets on.

Am I Cursed by the Carburetor Gods? Or do I just suck with Carburetors?

I tried that, and it ran good again, then didn't, then decided it wanted to flood out, then wanted to lean out, then caught fire, then I hooked it back up, and it ran good again, then it wanted to lean out, then flooded, and caught fire, then it wouldn't even start. (Are you starting to see a...

Am I Cursed by the Carburetor Gods? Or do I just suck with Carburetors?

It still has points, but I they are brand new and set correctly.

Am I Cursed by the Carburetor Gods? Or do I just suck with Carburetors?

It doesn't currently have an EGR Valve, but it did before swapping the motor.

Am I Cursed by the Carburetor Gods? Or do I just suck with Carburetors?

This is over 2 years, 2 different engines, and many different problems that seem to have been fixed after replacing the carb.

Am I Cursed by the Carburetor Gods? Or do I just suck with Carburetors?

Is there a good aftermarket, or swap on carburetor out there for these engines? What problems have you guys had with monojets? Should I find an early Rochester 1 barrel?

Am I Cursed by the Carburetor Gods? Or do I just suck with Carburetors?

The fuel system is not the culprit since it will sometimes run perfect, sometimes lean out and bog, sometimes flood out and shoot raw gas/flames out the exhaust (not just a backfire, but a continuous flame) and sometimes refuse to run at all. It is so inconsistent. The only vacuum accessory I...

Am I Cursed by the Carburetor Gods? Or do I just suck with Carburetors?

I'll say that the used engine I put in the truck has no rings left, but compression is at least consistently bad (between 90-100) and it has a whole new top end. When it idles, it is really smooth, but it just keeps going from running perfect down the road at 70mph, to not even wanting to run...

Am I Cursed by the Carburetor Gods? Or do I just suck with Carburetors?

I know for sure it is the carburetor (new fuel pump, fuel lines, and no difference). Even after running it out of a gas jug (in case there was a clogged fuel line) it made no difference.

Am I Cursed by the Carburetor Gods? Or do I just suck with Carburetors?

When I first bought my '74 it has the original Rochester Monojet Carburetor. It always ran rough, despite replacing the entire ignition system and trying my best to tune the carb. I then went into my first carb rebuild (other than on lawn mowers) and was very careful to get it right. To my...

    Show your daily driver

I just bought myself a new daily for the winter. 1998 K1500 with 198k and power nothing (wind-up windows, manual t-case, and no power locks) $900 and it drove 4 hours home no problem. It even looks pretty decent with minimal rust.

Worn Out Posi? Any way to make it work again?

I had always assumed that my 1974 GMC C1500 had an open rear end with either 4:10 or 3:73 rear gears, but wasn't sure since I could never seem to find the stamped identification number (until now) Now it seems that I actually have a 3:55 12 bolt Posi. Massive surprise to me, since it doesn't...

driveline, swapping from th350 to 465 trans.

I think I know where you can find the linkage parts you're looking for. There's a place in Galesburg called Midway Auto Parts. And there a few old squares with manual transmissions in the yard. A bit of a drive from Lincoln, but it might be worth it. Also, I think I bought a Saginaw 3 speed...

I need a complete tune up - kit?

Just go to the autoparts store and just pick up all the stuff you need. Is is TBI or carbureted? After sitting I'd expect you to have some carb problems, but if it's TBI, I'd just put a can of seafoam in the tank and be done with it. Also, if it is TBI, after sitting the old gas in the tank...

    longbed to a medium bed

I say keep it a longbed, the reason its 8ft is because most lumber/drywall/other things comes in 8ft sections which means that there is no overhang. I've never heard of anyone just chopping 1 inches off of a bed unless it was a body swap and they wanted to match a different wheelbase. It would...

    700r4 locked up in gear.

It's an automatic out of a '51 Studebaker Champion, it was made by Borg Warner. In fact, I think it was Borg Warner's first commercial automatic transmission.

    700r4 locked up in gear.

Actually, I fixed it without rebuilding it after dropping the pan and tightening the bands and changing the fluid. It now actually had direct drive and doesn't seem to slip in the slightest.
