    I ruined the yellow truck.

The big one is a 2001 Chaparel Signiture 300 with 2 Chevy 305's powering it, while the other is a 1999 Mariah Talaria z221 with a 454. Both great boats, and both run. The Mariah has a hasn't been on the water in a few years since the interior got destroyed after the cover blew off while in a...

    I ruined the yellow truck.

Unruined now, turns out to have been a bent pushrod somehow. Stuck one in from my 194 parts motor, and I'm back in business. Other than swapping the wheels/tire back onto my truck, I also had my suburbans tires remounted on some junkyard steel wheels I got. Really looks better, especially...

1982 C10 California emissions 4.1L emission parts help

Damn, you got it tough in California. That 250 looks like its in critical condition on life support. So many useless vacuum lines. (8 year difference with the same engine)

    3 on the tree

No, I got 4:10, and some bigger tires already. With my '30.6 tires, I will probably be turning 2200 rpm on the highway. I guess that is quite steep, but I am going to take it storm chasing, and most of my miles will he highway.

I got a buddy with an OD transmission, and I am hoping to swap it into my truck.

    3 on the tree

I just welded some old nuts and washers I had laying around in the place of bushings. It does not slip between the gears anymore, and that is all I care about.

Removing paint and "polishing" it while maintaining patina?

I made a video on youtube about me talking about various cars, and I talk about the linseed treatment I did on my truck.

    Hood Bounce

On two occasions I have had the hood on my '74 completely fly open going down the road because my latch was screwed up. 1st while I was going only about 45mph, caused no damage, and second when I was going 70 on the interstate, and it mangled my hood and broke one of the hinges. I ended up...

Removing paint and "polishing" it while maintaining patina?

Can you see them now? If you can, just know that I used a roller to paint over a roll-over accident I had, yet it has a pretty cool look in my opinion.

Removing paint and "polishing" it while maintaining patina?

If I were you, I would wet sand it with 600 grit, then 1000, and buff it with some boiled linseed oil. I did the same to the roller job on my yellow truck (don't pay attention to those god awful wheels)

    I ruined the yellow truck.

No, but I am about to go on a two week Christmas break (I am a senior in high school) and I will be able to work on it then. Other then the fact that my hours at work are a bit crazy at this time of year, I should be able to get it done.

    I ruined the yellow truck.

I ran it a bit low on oil, (not that low) and cold started it. I don't think it is catastrophically damaged, but the intake valve on cylinder No. 4 does not really open at all. I changed the oil, and completely disabled number 4 (Pulled the rockers and push rods out) since I still need it...

    I ruined the yellow truck.

My yellow truck recently whiped a cam lobe, so I have parked it until my new cam comes (comp cam 0.489 lift, 223 duration). Since we have been getting some fierce snow lately, I have found that my '95 Suburban's tires are like drag slicks compared to the yellow trucks 265 75 r15 Cooper...

How much weight will a 1/2 ton really handle?

The most I've had in my bed is about 2500lbs when I hauled a 250 gallon water tank. Since my shocks are a little on the soft side, I did sag quite a bit. The truck handled the weight surprisingly well considering that my humble inline 6 is probably making 70HP at this point. Needless to say, I...

    I had a sort of crazy Idea last night . . .

That has given me something to think about, The engine I am running is a tiny little 250 i6, and I am still running points. I got the head from a 194, that I am in the process of rebuilding and planning to use to boost compression up to 10:1. I really want to use what I already have and just...

    I had a sort of crazy Idea last night . . .

Last night I fired up the barbecue and got thinking about whether or not I could convert my 1974 GMC C1500 to Propane. Make it an Oil-Gas-Propane hybrid. Since Propane is cheap and not much less efficient than gas, so I know that I would save money on gas. (I ran the numbers a while back) I...
