    84 C30 AC Return Hose

Your difficulty in locating the proper part could be because you're not using proper terminology.. The proper name for that hose/line is liquid line.. The compressor pulls the Freon gas out of the evaporator and pumps it through the condenser where it is cooled and converted to a liquid state...

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

smoothandlow84, I have to agree with everything you've said.. You pretty much echo what the body shops told me.. What scares me most is that large flat area.. As you know, flat areas are most susceptible to damage and even the tiniest of imperfections are visible.. And the edge of that area is...

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

I've already checked on prices.. A reproduction "slick" tailgate is around $160 - $200 plus oversize package shipping, depending on the vendor source. Then it has to be massaged to remove the manufacturing and shipping imperfections and fine tune the fit. Then there's hardware installation, and...

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

I think there is less chance of paint and other physical damage if all movement during the straightening process is limited to up and down.. The 'gate is almost useless in it's present condition.. If I damage it trying to straighten it, I haven't lost much.. The $400 - $500 to replace it scares...

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

You spelled it right.. And yes they do resemble the magnesium Halibrands of old.. The tires are original to the 2005 restoration and show signs of dry rot.. I'll know the wheel model when I put on the tires..

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

Thinking back..... I believe the five "spokes" were shaped more like a star.. These are similar to Rodlite https://www.weldwheels.com/product/rodlite/ Today's Rodlites are drilled for dual bolt pattern..

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

I consider myself the luckiest guy in the world.. My wife and I recently celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary.. She still leaves love notes for me to find... She occasionally tapes proposition notes to my computer screen...

Yeah, but, but, but..... he asked for more pictures... The building is 30' X 50'.. Entry doors are oversized Overhead Door models w/power assist.. I love it.. My wife just gave me a new 12 cfm compressor to go in it..

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

Well, I certainly can't argue with a moderator and the guy with the big dog.. I only have 3 pictures of the truck.. Here's the other 2.. And yes, those are genuine Weld wheels.. Drag Star I believe is the "model name"...

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

That very same idea has crossed my mind.. I think if a board longer than the gate is wide, AND the truck isn't driven too far above the bottom of the 'gate, it just might work.. I'd also place a thick pad, blanket, or other padding between the board and the gate... Without it, one little shift...

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

The problem with leaving it alone is this: I can't open the tailgate without scratching it.. When the tailgate reaches about 1/2 open, the peak of the bow touches the pan.. Standard body shop practices for this situation is a complete tailgate replacement.. Original replacement 'gates have...

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

My point exactly... There is almost no bow at the top, at least not enough to worry about.. All the bow is in the bottom.. The "peak" of the bow touches the top lip of the pan right above the left edge of the license plate.. The rest of the truck is just as clean and straight as the tailgate...

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

That is the goal, although it may be an unrealistic one.. I would like to hear what you'd try.. The truck went through a fairly complete restoration/rebuild around 2005.. The person I bought it from bought it from a restoration/custom shop in 2005.. During the restoration, the side trim was...

Probably so on both counts. A lot of work has gone into this tailgate, it's well worth saving..

I don't know about the Zonkey... I haven't seen Mr. Stripes and his harem for about 2 weeks.. This time of year they hole up somewhere away from all the deer hunters..

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

By Jove, I think you've got it!!! [said in my best British accent].. I've got a collection of C-clamps that borders on illegal.. And being a rental property owner, I also have a nice scrap lumber collection.. Hammering and pounding won't work, too much collateral damage.. But clamps and boards...

    Removing a Tailgate Bow

No, I'm not talking about ribbons and bows.. Some previous owner used the tailgate on my truck for something besides it's intended purpose.. I suppose something very heavy was placed on it and caused the 'gate to bow outward.. It's not dented or scratched up, just a 1 inch outward bow to it. The...

    Hesitation - 400 sbc 850cfm 4-Quadrajet

A word of caution!!! DO NOT check the accelerator pump while the engine is running.. If the engine should back fire while you're looking down the carburetor throats -- the flame will remove your eye brows, eye lashes, and quite possibly damage your eyes..

    Hesitation - 400 sbc 850cfm 4-Quadrajet

Did the engine do this before the carburetor rebuild?? Not sure what you mean by "chatters"??? Sounds like the accelerator pump isn't working properly.. Remove the air cleaner housing so you can look directly down the throat of the carburetor.. With the engine not running, check the...
